My self-summary
I am living in Santa Fe surrounded by a great community, which means the world to me. I spend a lot of time enjoying their company. Whether I'm in a meeting or at a dinner party, most of the time I am having fun. My sense of humor is observational, ironic, and sometimes a little dark. I enjoy relaxing just as much as I like to be busy and I believe that you don't have to be boring in order to be a grown-up. I try to inform my self about the world around me and have an overall interest in human beings... their histories, interests, and the ways they interact. In other words, I like people watching.

I am independent, empathetic, and resourceful
What I’m doing with my life
Every time I answer a question like this, my life path changes course and my answer becomes outdated, so here it goes. I work at a non-profit and enjoy my job, although I'm always looking for ways to improve my work life. I always seem to have at least one or two unpaid projects on the side that keep me busy on top of work. Sometimes all the work/projects can be a little much so it is nice to come home and relax with my roommates and friends.
I’m really good at
Sewing, coming up with and making costumes for theme parties, throwing dinner parties, people watching, walking in high heels, spacial relations, and being a crafty genius in putting together birthday gatherings for friends. The most extravagant party included a moon walk.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Sarah Vowell. I love all of her books and all books written by David Sedaris, Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder, Hope Human and Wild by Bill McKibben, and all of the Oz books (the books that followed the Wizard of Oz).

Music:Those Darlins, The Magnetic Fields, Zoe Keating, Coco Rosie, Devandra Banhart, Animal Collective, Beck, Talking Heads, The Specials, David Bowie, B. Fleischmann, Department Of Eagles, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Amy Winehouse, Kanye West, M.I.A., Outkast and many more.

Podcasts: This American Life, WNYC's Radio Lab, Slate's podcast, FreshAir, The Moth, and Savage Love. I listen to a ridiculous amount of podcasts while going about my life.

Movies: Anything by Pixar, Death at a Funera (the British version), The Italian Job, Jump!, Little Miss Sunshine, Lars and the Real Girl, Monsoon Wedding, Miyazaki movies, Murderball, Roman Holiday, Rory O'Shea Was Here, Saved!, Secretary, Shortbus, Serenity, Spellbound and many more.

TV: This category is constantly changing for me.

Food: I like all kinds of good food especially fresh fruits (mmmm berries) and vegetables, Indian food, sushi, salads, home cooked food, and green Chile.
The six things I could never do without
friends/family, nature, good food (particularly fruits and veggies), sleep, the potential to learn, laughter, and a comfortable place to call my own.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I am doing with my life and whether or not I'll ever actually go to grad school, and how can I make Santa Fe cooler for my cohort.
On a typical Friday night I am
With friends, working or having a much deserved night in.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I am extremely Dyslexic, which explains the bad spelling and grammar (Please excuse it). If you are wondering if that means I see everything backwards and mixed up, the answer is NO. I have a different kind of dyslexia which is hard to explain but means I read very slowly and have a hard time comprehending when I am reading. I have a hard time spelling and punctuating because I don't easily reread what I write. So if I write "Is that the hole story" or use there instead of their, or maybe even a who instead of how don't judge me. It doesn't mean I'm uneducated it just means I'm unique.
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like girls
  • Ages 26–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You are fun, find a little bit of silliness in the whole online dating thing and have an interest in actually meeting up.

No need to message me if you are. One of my roommates or other good friend that Okcupid keeps insisting is a great match for me.
