My self-summary
I love to read and listen to music, mainly indie folk and classical. Some by Sea is pretty amazing, right? I'm not into sports, cars, or science. Peter S. Beagle and Robin McKinley are a few of my favorite authors. I love movies, including Amelie, Adventures of Baron Munchausen, and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Um, let's see. reading, check. Music, check. Movies, check. School is fun! Science is confusing! Fairy tales are awesome! That's it.

I am silly, absentminded, and vague
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently working my life away until I get enough money to go to grad school. To where, you ask? Well, that's a wonderful question that I can't answer as of yet. Also, what will I do with this fine example of academia one I have achieved my goal? Well, that's a good question too! What can I do with a Ph.D. in Eastern European History and a Masters in Folklore besides teach? I don't know, but I'll find it, whatever it is. And it will be awesome. I know it. Also, I'll be in debt forever.
I’m really good at
Music, mainly the oboe, marimba, and singing variety. I've done lots of stuff and toured Europe and been told I was awesome, so that should count for something, right? Sure it does. I'm also really good at conflict management, helping people sort out problems and calm down.
The first things people usually notice about me
I honestly have no idea. It depends on the situation, am I with my friends, laughing as the center of attention or am I reading a book somewhere inappropriate? I'm a little hard to understand (I've been told) and kinda live in my own world so maybe some of that shows through.

On the other hand, now that I think about it, this question is probably referring to physical features, at which I would say my eyes or my skin (unless my hair is more of an interesting shade than usual).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A. Anything by Robin McKinley or Peter S. Beagle. Also, Ender's Game (Orson Scott Card), Wheel of Time series (Robert Jordan {I'm sorry!!}), Sheri S. Tepper books, Douglas Adams, Simon R. Green,

B. Anything by Terry Gilliam and the Monty Python guys. As I mentioned earlier, Amelie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Baron Munchausen. I also love Blade Runner, Big Fish, Russian Ark, Usual Suspects, Mallrats, Cowboy Bebop, Blazing Saddles (and anything Mel Brooks), I <3 Huckabees, Kung Fu Hustle, Boondock Saints, Harvey, Howl's Moving Castle, and many, many more.

C. Some By Sea, Guillemots, Queen, Black Sabbath, the Smiths, Regina Spektor, dredg, Opeth, Metric, Down, Pantera, Deathcab for Cutie (god, I'm such a girl), Oh No! Oh My!, Square Peg Round Hole, Morrissey, Rufus Wainwright, and, of course, many, many, many more.

D. I love cheese. Also, I have a serious weakness for buffalo wings. And vodka. That sounds like the most perfect meal ever!
The six things I could never do without
a book, my music, a pad of paper (with pen included and no I'm not cheating), some kind of social scene, trees, and showers.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Inner peace. What exactly is the best way to find it? Meditation is awesome, long walks in the woods, likewise. A good piece of music or a sunset can make me forget the world, but it always comes back. So I'm trying to find a way to make sure to hold onto the inner peace I find, call it when I need it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Right now, at work, but when I don't have a second job, I'm out with friends, bbq-ing or something (usually drinking, though).
