My Self-Summary

I am a fat redhead who digs rocks and an occasional artifact. Yes, really. I am currently attending Wichita State University double majoring in Geology and Anthropology. I enjoy classical fencing when I have the time. I like the steampunk ascetic, and punks in general. My guilty pleasures are stealing time to read anything not class related, hanging out with my friends around a camp fire, and driving my 57 Chevy truck. I like watching movies with friends but do not watch TV, as I have too much other productive stuff I could be doing. I do not play video games, but I do play in a old-school tabletop D&D gaming group. My dining room has been overtaken by my crafting and sewing.
I bike almost everywhere and am annoyingly practical (according to my friends). I follow a pagan spiritual path but have friends of many faiths. What I’m doing with my life

I'm studying Geology and Anthropology full time, work full time at a high end hotel, plus work on campus. I hope to go into natural resource or cultural resource management for the US after serving a stint in the Peace corp.
I try to divide my time between work and play. If you live your entire life towards a goal, you will never really live.

I’m really good at

I'm really good at McGyvering (thinking up alternate plans)! I like knowing how things work, so tend to pick up a bit of skill in almost everything I try. I'm not really good at -all- of them, but thus far I've tried sewing (hand and machine, easy to complex), water color painting, sculpture ( mediums: clay, wire, wood, soapstone, food), jewelry making (includes wire wrapping), leather work (includes tooling), bike repair, auto repair, landscaping, gardening, candle making, book binding, paper making, metal lathe work, writing (short stories), entertaining children and children at heart, packing large amounts of stuff into small spaces, building campfires, keeping fires going in the rain and having the only dry bed in camp (even though all I had was a small tarp and a hammock)

I'm not good with computers, I have geek friends for that.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm a big girl but that doesn't stop me from doing just about anything. I'm told I have good proportion. I like to smile, tend to lack tact, and enjoy making my friends laugh.

I have many favorites! Authors: McCaffery, Ludlum, Eddings.

Lots of Movies of all genres: Boondock Saints, The Nines, Three Musketeers.

Music also varies widely, but includes Irish punk, rock and techno. Currently CD's laying around: Flogging Molly, Tonic, Anti-Flag, Afro Celt Soundsystem, Great Big Sea and Street Dogs, Switchblade Symphony, Darude.

I enjoy some old-school rap, but I Do Not Like Gansta Rap.

Food: I love good Pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), Green curry, and enjoy good BBQ now and then.

Enjoying life to it's fullest, the feel of a storm, overstepping my limits, my latest project (currently- turning my spare bedroom into a library/sewing area, next- overhauling my off-road bike).

On a typical Friday night I am

I will be at my second shift job. Saturday nights I play old-school, table-top dungeons and dragons with friends in our mostly girl gaming group.
