I am affectionate, intelligent, and creative.
My Self-Summary
Variety is the spice of life and I'll always be the NYC girl +
country gal because there's fun to be had everywhere! I'm
passionate about the great outdoors (though I may want a manicure
when I return :)), fine arts, high heels, traveling, snow sports
(cross country skiing, ice skating), biking, water sports
(kayaking, fishing, snorkeling), and family. I love experiencing
new things, exotic cuisines, foreign films, and working out.
A great conversationalist, I'm up to talking about anything, and
learning about everything. What can we teach each other? I've
traveled widely, and am well-read, and I hope you are too. While
you might not order the Remy Martin Louis XIII bottle, you'd
appreciate a woman who knows what it is.
I enjoy making new friends and going out to live performances,
bowling, shoot pool (though I'm not very good), art galleries, new
restaurants, finding interesting activities in the local area, and
the beach (sunrise or sunset..your call). Where have you been that
you'd like to share?
I love to create in the kitchen (have close to 1,000 cookbooks),
have a vegetable garden, a butterfly garden, do some oil painting,
and play the piano.
Listen to Y100 in my car (good dj banter in the morning), though I
love everything from classical to heavy metal...just depends on my
mood and who I'm with. A recent Fall Out Boy concert was AWESOME!!
Admittedly, James Taylor music still makes me weak in the knees.
Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" is a classic, and the sax solo
in "Europa" is simply heaven! If you like blues and jazz music, you
may rock my world! Love to dance too.
I can put live bait on a hook, clean and cook your catch, and could
be tempted to snuggle with u and s'mores by the fire.
If you're not playing through fast enough, I'll order lunch for you
at the club, mix your drinks, and listen to all your tall
tales.
A good kiss is my kryptonite. I'm an affectionate and down to earth
girl looking for a sincere guy. Don't tell anyone, but I don't
recycle as often as I could, I probably should be more politically
aware (though I'm more FOX than CNBC), and you might've spotted me
in a chat room... Shhhhh. Oh well, nobody's perfect.
What I’m doing with my life
I firmly believe life's a journey! So right now, I'm working as a
health care professional, and I'm a mom to my two teens. I'm always
looking for my next vacation destination, though I know it could be
way off before I get there- so many adventures await, big or small!
I love going to the gym, meeting with my trainer, and the whole
working out culture. New to mountain biking, and I love it. I've
been to my first Marlins and Panthers games this season and loved
it. Can't wait to see a Dolphins game too. Interested? There's
something about the roar and excitement of the crowds that get me!
I’m really good at
....at writing. I have over 30 professional publications in
peer-reviewed journals. I'm also a gourmet, as I detoured from my
current profession and did some catering and food styling. I'm
witty and have a rapier wit. I have a green thumb, and as a friend
once put it, "if you can't eat it, don't grow it." I'm also very
good at mathematics. Algebra anyone?
The first things people usually notice about me
You really should notice that I'm always right. Just kidding! I
guess people notice that I'm pretty and have a friendly smile.
Gosh, hope that doesn't sound shallow.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
This past year I read The Old Man and the Sea, Brave New World,
Things Fall Apart, and The Odyssey. Can you tell I have a kid in
high school? LOL. By the way, we got A's on all of our papers!!
Reading chick lit now, but hey, I'm allowed. One of my favorite
books is by Jacqueline Park, The Secret Book of Grazia dei Rossi.
So, I guess I prefer historical fiction.
When it comes to movies, I'm a sucker for the old fashioned ones
(Doris Day, Rock Hudson, MGM musicals, etc). But I'd never pass up
a great comedy or thought provoking mystery. I prefer films to
Hollywood formulaic movies. If you like foreign films with
subtitles, I'm your gal.
As for food, the more exotic the better. Seriously! I've eaten
everything from alligator to kangaroo. But honestly, I love sushi,
and can eat it everyday.
The six things I could never do without
Six things I couldn't do without...
1. The internet
2. My family
3. My hair straightener
4. Blueberries
5. My cell phone
6. My ipod
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Making everyday count! And where I've been and where I'm going.
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out with friends, or hangin' (invisibly) at home with the
teens.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Tisk, tisk. I'll let you know later.
You should message me if
You liked my profile and you think we have some common threads.
You're well-read, traveled widely, well educated, and are not
living with mom and dad, sis, bro, your future or former ex. And
remember, it's a first "meet" not a first "date." The second meet
will be our first date :)
