My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a grad student, so a lot of my time is devoted to that. I live in an old renovated church, which is pretty cool, I think. I generally prefer winter to summer for the weather, but the lack of baseball in winter is a problem. I recently got a new bike and I want to start riding more than I did with my last bike. I'm determined to make it to the Philadelphia Zoo in the near future after having lived here for a year and a half without going. Finally, I seem unable to write a self-summary that doesn't appear terribly disjointed when I read it over.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I hosted a trivia night at a bar for three years. I'm not amazing when it comes to answering trivia questions, but I'm fantastic at asking them.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no idea, but now I'm curious about it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Gravity's Rainbow, Breakfast of Champions, Killing Yourself to Live, Catch-22 (well, it was my favorite book when I was 17, but I haven't read it in years), The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Kavalier & Clay
Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Wall-E (most Pixar movies, really), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Empire Records, pretty much any superhero movies, even (especially?) the really terrible ones.
TV: The Wire, Daily Show and Colbert, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Buffy and Firefly. Breaking Bad is pretty great, but I'm nervous to call it a favorite before I see how it ends.
Music: Radiohead, R.E.M., Talking Heads, Replacements, They Might Be Giants, Bowie, Velvet Underground, Decemberists, Jenny Lewis (with or without the rest of Rilo Kiley), Neko Case; Funky Friday on WXPN
Also, I didn't see a designated space for this, but I'm a big fan of the Washington Nationals and Maryland Terrapins. I realize the Nats part of that may be problematic for any Philly natives reading this, but so it goes.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Family and friends (obviously), my parakeets, my iphone, peanut butter M&Ms, music, and something to read.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
This week I've been wondering how Daft Punk suddenly became the most popular thing in the world. Don't get me wrong: I don't dislike them or anything, it just strikes me as strange.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sad though it may be, Friday nights are really good for catching up on reading (for school). That way, the rest of the weekend can be less work-oriented.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like going out for live music and/or pub quiz. I haven't been to enough shows or played enough trivia lately.
