My name is Amira, and even though I describe myself as a writer, I find it near impossible to write anything about myself...but I'll give it a shot anyway, since OKcupid demands that I fill this out:

I graduated in May of 2009 with a B.S. in criminal justice and am currently back in school working toward my master's degree in National Security. Before you go any further, I should probably mention that I am a huge geek in addition to being a Nerdfighter and am pretty proud of it. I love to play video games when I get the downtime, and some of my other hobbies include: reading, writing, photography, web/graphic design, soccer, traveling and scrapbooking.

Currently back in school to obtain my master's degree and then striving to attain a job in the government. :) Also, I'm working very hard to get back into shape--so far, the progress has been good!

Yes, you should know, I'm a huge Harry Potter geek. Fiction wise, I enjoy books by Barbara Kingsolver, Greg Isles, Patricia Cornwell and Dan Brown. I'm pretty much a bibliophile and I'll read anything and everything, especially if it's non-fiction related to national security, history, geopolitics, narco-trafficking, etc.

"Seeds of Terror" by Gretchen Peters (coincidence, and of no relation)
"The Falcon and the Snowman" by Robert Lindsey

Movies: I love just everything Pixar, such as Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monster's Inc. and Up!. Other movies/TV shows I like include, but are not limited to: Band of Brothers, Stargate SG-1, Chuck, Eureka, Veronica Mars, The Green Mile, Green Street Hooligans, Pelican Brief, Miss Congeniality, Crash, Mean Girls, High Crimes, Rent, My Cousin Vinny, Men of Honor, Blazing Saddles, History of the World Part I, etc. I'm pretty open to watching most movies at least once, although horror/slasher movies don't scare me and otherwise don't interest me too entirely much.

Music: My taste in music is very eclectic and I have a wide range of genres and artists in my music library. I love classical music, Arabian, rock, power-pop, and I LOVE musicals. Some of my favorite artists at the moment are: The Hush Sound, Dustin Kensrue, Jason Mraz, Thrice, Ingrid Michaelson, Margot & The Nuclear So and So's, etc.

When it comes to food, I have to say that I will try most food. Usually. I love Spanish food and adore Middle-Eastern cuisine (I can make mean falafel and hummus). I'm not all that great of a cook myself for the most part, but I'm learning. :)

Even though I know I'm taking this too literally; until December, Friday nights very pathetically mean that I am in class.

Assuming that this question's intent is to gauge whether or not I 'party it up' at the end of the week, as I reckon it is...the answer is no. While I enjoy being social and hanging out with friends, I am not big on partying and would rather spend my downtime doing something other than 'clubbing' and drinking myself stupid.

I've beaten every Call of Duty game ever made. On veteran.

That has to boost my "potential girlfriend" score, right?!

I think instead, I'll put a list of disqualifiers here:

- NO DRUG USERS. I don't care if you only do them 'recreationally' or 'once in awhile'. I can't stand them and I refuse to associate with people who use them. I will not sacrifice my future career for that.

- I will be the first to admit that I'm not the most grammatically correct person to ever live, nor do I spell things correctly 100% of the time. However, I love the English language and really don't like to see it butchered by perpetual 'netspeak' and things like substituting 'u' for 'you'.

- I am not interested in guys who are looking for purely physical relationships. Finding someone that I am compatible with intellectually and emotionally is more important to me at this stage of my life.
