Rather than get carried away, I'll list some things that I feel
strongly about and may give some character-building
The Book of Disquiet is my soul-book (Faulkner once wrote that if
he wished he could have written any book in history, it would have
been Moby Dick, and The Book of Disquiet is mine).
I was recently converted to 1984. I had read it when I was younger,
and didn't engage so much with Orwell's language, and I suppose I
was predisposed to hate it because it was cited so often (I forget
who said it, but someone famous (and therefore completely
authoritative!) has pointed out that the sad legacy of 1984 is that
it's become a barometer for those who understand government, with
those who commonly reference it inevitably failing that particular
test). Anyway, I'm now a fan.
I've also recently re-watched the Before... trilogy (Sunrise,
Sunset, Midnight), or rather I'm waiting to simultaneously watch
Before Midnight with my best friend in Beijing once we've found a
matching time. I am, at times, predisposed to romance and tragedy,
but I think those films sum up the real-life dating phenomenon, at
least to me, better than most films have managed.
My taste in TV Shows is incredibly eclectic(I have to do something
to avoid study), but if I had to choose one to represent myself to
someone, it'd be The West Wing.
With food, currently I'm attempting the Paleo diet (basically,
greens and meat) as part of a gym thing, which kind of sucks as I
basically have the food taste of an overweight and pregnant
