Hi, I'm Kelly!

Queer, cis, into people of all genders (not just bi). I'm studying psychology & women's studies, and hoping to go on to study social work. Originally from Vancouver, I came here for school, fell in love with Montreal, and don't plan on leaving for a long time!

You're just as likely to see me at a manif as you are at the campus bar, or at home just spending time with my roommates. I'm big into social justice and anti-oppressive organizing, and just as into socializing, dive bars, cuddling and watching movies, and exploring this beautiful city.

Oh, I also subscribe to anarchafeminism. I'm pretty into that.

Studying psych & women's studies full-time. Hating the university, loving the people. Social justice organizing. Going to demos. Dreaming of smashing the state. Drinking coffee or wine with roommates and friends. Having meaningful discussions, having lighthearted conversations. Walking everywhere. Going to as many shows as I can. Avoiding laundry and cleaning. Watching too many movies/TV and spending too much time online. Wishing I spent all that time reading and playing my guitar instead.

Books: 1984, The Handmaid's Tale, The Lovely Bones, anything John Green, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Fahrenheit 451, A Million Little Pieces, My Friend Leonard... I have many more amazing books in my room just waiting for me to have the time to read them :( I also love zines. But yeah, honestly, most of my reading time goes into course readings.

Food: I'm really lazy when I make food on my own. But give me someone to cook with, and I love it - I'm up for anything not involving meat! If you ask nicely, I'll cook you legit Mexican food. Or we can find a recipe on Foodgawker and figure out how to make it together. Also, baking!

Movies:
almost everything. Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Run Lola Run
horror, drama, some action, some comedy, romcoms once in a while... well-done documentaries... I like movies based on true stories.

Shows:
United States of Tara!
I think I have bad taste in TV otherwise, but it doesn't matter?
Lost, Girls (I like criticizing it almost more than watching it), Bob's Burgers, Modern Family, Criminal Minds, Grey's Anatomy, True Blood, Walking Dead, Switched at Birth.

Drinking with friends and/or roommates! Apartment drinking and bars are my scene. If the bar has a dance floor and good music, I'm into it. No straight clubs.

On some Fridays, I stay in and watch movies. Preferably with a bottle of wine and people to cuddle with.

Sometimes I just need to turn my brain off and watch shitty rom coms or reality tv. While eating Toblerone bars. Sometimes I stay in bed all day doing just that.

I'm also a terrible singer and WILL NOT do karaoke. If *you* can sing, though, I'm into it.

single or in an open/poly relationship, queer or very comfortable with the queer scene, into rad politics, easy to talk to (you can be shy at the same time!).
you want to: grab a drink or three, go for coffee and wander the city streets, climb the mountain with a bottle of wine, go to a queer dance party, go to a demo, do dinner & a movie (or cook dinner and watch a movie at home), or if there's something else fun that you have in mind!
