My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been called engaging, worldly, sexy, warm hearted and one verrry funny guy -- gosh-a-golly, gee-whiz!
Otherwise, well-grounded, not-too-shabby-looking guy looking for a partner/fellow conspirator to laugh and love....
I'm a long-time newspaperman who likes to think outside the box - that glass ain't half full or empty, it's just too big. I'm easy - but no pushover. Likes children and dogs.
Equally at home at a black-tie affair or in a South Bronx squadroom. My friends run from creative/media types and cops, down the food chain to some shady characters and politicians. I do a fair amount of travel writing and am passionate about photography.

Summing up: an all-round nice, funny, romantic, sexy, sensual, smart, caring, interesting guy who knows how to laugh at life and at himself, looking for his equal.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it day by day, finding the beauty and the humor in it, carrying my baggage with grace, and working on some goals.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
A gentleman never tells, but trust me on this one....
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My striking good looks and engaging personality. You betcha!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Sad to say, computers and long work hours have hijacked my book mojo.
On my office book shelf: Practical Homicide Investigation, League of Women Voters Directory of Elected Officials, Spanish-English Dictionary, a Book of Thomas Wolfe short stories ("Only the Dead Know Brooklyn" is a favorite), The Joys of Yiddish by Leo Rosten (Love to sprinkle the occasional foreign word into a story), and Everyone Comes to Elaine's By A.E. Hotchner (R.I.P. Fat Lady, you are missed).

Music: Pretty much matches my personality - Jazz is my brain candy, sold my soul to Rock 'n' Roll, and Latin and Bossa Nova get my hips wigglin'.
Two favorite Country-Western songs -- "I like my women a little on the trashy side" and "Prop me up beside the juke box when I die and pay your respects a quarter at a time."

Movies: "The Lives of Others" - Took me back to bouncing around the two Germanies covering the fall of The Wall.
"Bull Durham" and "Field of Dreams" - especially for a guy who is NOT into sports.
Jules and Jim, King of Hearts, Harold and Maude, Babette's Feast, Manhattan, Wings of Desire, and the usual Marx Brothers, Fred and Ginger, plus the Coen Brothers, early Woody Allen (His 'Midnight in Paris' was a big comeback for him).
NOT - repeat NOT - into shoot-em-ups, guts-n-gore, hi-speed chase action stuff or Disney fluff. I like "thinking" movies.

FOOD: The appreciation of a fine restaurant meal, the occasional kindness of friends' home cooking and the standard reporter's lower right hand desk drawer stock of Cup O' Noodles soup, Snicker's bars and a bottle of Jack or Jim.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good company, wit and laughter, my cop and political
sources, my bullshit meter, a firm grip on a sense of
the absurd, and obviously since I'm on this site, potential glorious couplehood.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Make it "I spend a lot of time just plain thinking."
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Ready to crash - but open to suggestions and invitations.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I was only a dull-witted stable boy in a previous incarnation, not Napoleon or a pharoah....
