some things: i do (generally) like dark hair. i don't (generally) have any interest in dating someone younger than myself. i like men who blush. i like people who are doing something different. i would probably not get along, on an intimately romantically level, with a political conservative. or someone who is fundamentally religious. i like men who can articulate themselves and can type. if you're not a horror fan on at least some level we probably wouldn't jive...i am a virgo and have a keen sense of balance between an absolute presence in the world and an ideological reason for being here. i love astronomy. i love mystery. i love comedy. i do like to talk about these things.
What I’m doing with my life
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
current book: apathy & other small victories.
music: i have to admit that i always roll my eyes at people who don't have the aptitude to say anything more than 'i like most music, save rap & country..' for some reason it's irritating when people cannot identify something as important as music (when it really should be to a person) with regard to how it affects their personality and identity. that said, i will say that i do have love for many artists in many genres of music.
i love deep, soulful house music like andy caldwell, st. germain, lisa shaw, fred everything & the like. but i love what i call 'sunshine/ saturday morning' house like kascade, and chicane. ambient/ downtempo especially like zero 7 or air. i love dream/ baroque/ indie pop like bang gang, sufjan stevens, trespassers william, jose gonzalez, the decemberists, elliot smith, or camera obscura. my favorite band is probably the bird & the bee. indie rock like broken social scene, neutral milk hotel, and interpol. i fucking love motown and grew up listening to the gap band and earth, wind, & fire. i love hip hop. i love (especially) 90s hip hop & r&b featuring women artists like SWV, Salt & Pepa, En Vogue, TLC...on a rainy morning i love to play some billie holiday with my window open.
i am a goddamn mixed bag. and music is very important to me in my everyday life. i love people who have interests in any of these musical genres as it gives me an opportunity to learn & experience more.
as for films, i could probably name a thousand. some of my faves are:
your friends & neighbors
ghost world
religulous
shawn of the dead & hot fuzz
rushmore
shopgirl
stranger than paradise
love liza
suspiria
the fog (original)
and food: sushi, curry, and anything garlic-y (at least).
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
life and death and the cosmos especially. physics. i try to be capable of having interesting conversations so you know, i usually spend time thinking about the things that i find interesting.
On a typical Friday night I am
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
You should message me if
i guess i would also like to say that..well, there are a lot of different sides of me that aren't always accessible to everyone. while i think i am very animated, funny, and social at times, i can also be a very sympathetic, quiet, and distant person at others. i'm definitely not an open book, and i think that ultimately i need to be with someone that has the same balance as i do. if that makes any sense at all.
