My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi everyone! I'm Michael, a software engineer living the dream in Palo Alto, CA. I'm a very laid-back and happy person, but I also spend a lot of time working hard doing what I love. I'm passionate about solving important problems in the world through technology, and that's exactly what I get to do every day at work. It's a truly rewarding career and I intend to stay at it for quite a while.

I'm a big sports fan, both playing and watching. I played a lot before college (mostly baseball), and still get in a good game of ultimate frisbee, wiffle-ball, tennis, and more with co-workers and friends whenever possible. I follow college football pretty religiously when it's in season.

I'm kind of a homebody, so you'll rarely find me out at bars or clubs, but I do spend my evenings with a good group of friends enjoying something fun together.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm currently a software engineer in Palo Alto. I live close to the office and have the wonderful luxury of walking to work every day. Outside of work, I spend my evenings with my college and work friends.

Long term, I plan to stay in Silicon Valley. It's hands down the best place for a computer science person like me. I might go back to school someday, but will probably end up back in the valley either back at Stanford or working in the tech industry.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Playing DDR for hours on end
Sleeping for 16 hours after staying up way too late way too many days in a row
Singing operatic songs at karaoke night
Giving back massages
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, there's one really good way to find out, I guess...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Generally into fantasy / sci-fi, but I enjoy most things that are well-written

The Wheel of Time
Lord of the Rings
Harry Potter

As with books, I like fantasy and sci-fi a lot, but more generally I like things that are visually beautiful and/or intellectually stimulating. I also don't mind movies that are just fun or cute but otherwise lacking.

Spirited Away
The Avengers

I mostly watch sports and anime, but I like comedy shows as well

Football, baseball, basketball, tennis, soccer, pretty much any sports
Stein's Gate
Avatar: The Last Airbender

I listen to a lot of music from video games and animes (which is surprisingly good if you've never tried it), but I also enjoy classical, music from musicals, and pretty much anything else that's well-written and is interesting in some way (which tends to exclude country and a large chunk of pop music)

Yuki Kajiura
Nobuo Uematsu
Two Steps from Hell
Koji Kondo

I love asian food of pretty much all kinds. Indian is probably my favorite, closely followed by Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese. I also like American and Italian a lot, and of course the old staples of pizza, burgers, etc.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends / Family
Something exciting to work on
A good story to get lost in
Delicious food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to leverage technology to solve real-world problems
My current project at work
Whatever I'm currently reading / playing / watching
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually having a low-key get-together with some close friends. I'm not much of a partier, and I don't do the club scene, but I do love a good boardgames / video games / hang out and do whatever night.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm pretty open about things, so just ask away :)

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-You have a healthy tolerance for, or better yet enjoy, nerdiness
-Your idea of a great night is more of a few close friends doing something fun together and less of a large group of people going out for drinks, dancing, partying, etc.
-You think we might be great friends!
