I'm still learning how to operate this thing called my life. I have days where it goes exactly where I intend it to go. And some where nothing at all seems connected, or at least it's connected incorrectly. But at least it's fun, and nothing really ever pisses me off. I have a high tolerance for a lot of things, and little tolerance for some. I'm told I have a great dry sense of humor. Smarts impress and attract me.

I love to read. I also like to go movies, some sporting events (I've given up on the Vikings, they've been busting my chops since I was a kid and I just can't take it anymore). I like theatre, dance, a lot (when other people are doing it, I like to myself as well) just arts in general I find enjoyable. Like live music in the right venue, which would rule out all arenas.

I'm a father of two beautiful young women. I'm very proud of them, not because of any special talent or achievement. They are just very good humans.

I pride myself on being a considerate, honest and loyal person. My parents tried to teach that to me(of course I didn't see the value of it at the time of the lessons.) And like being treated the same.
I don't always act my age, but it hasn't turned into a problem yet. I'm comfortable in my own skin. Admittedly that took several years of adulthood to get there.

Ideally, the woman I want to meet and grow with would be smart, up on what's going on in the world, would know she's attractive(confidence shows), isn't afraid of pda(kept within limits of course, unless there is absolutely no one around then all bets are off......JK) and enjoy the arts. I guess I would say that's to start with. After that the requirements become increasingly arcane.

Anything more and you'll just have to ask me.

I'm observing the human race not in judgment but fascination. Sometimes it amuses me, sometimes it makes me wonder. I work in a law firm, but I'm not a lawyer. I also volunteer sometimes.

Making people laugh, engaging them in conversation.
-being with kids
-finding solutions
-(substitute at with "with") animals
-embarrassing my daughters
-being present
-being appropriate when necessary
-following through
-being amused easily
-staying alert for it
-being 15 minutes late

I look them in the eye. I have a very dry sense of humor. I apparently have what's described as a wry grin. I don't even know what that means for sure, am I sardonic or ironic? I'll go with ironic.

Favorite authors: all over the map, from Washington Irving to Murakami, Galsworthy to Marquez, Carey to Cather. I could go on and on.
Favorite movies: Memento; The Spanish Prisoner; Betty Blue; Trois Colores, Bend It Like Beckham(I know, kind of a teenage girls flick, but I have teenage daughters so I see a lot of crap, but this movie is great)pretty much anything with Gregory Peck or Bette Davis or Spencer Tracy in it, anything directed by Hitchcock.
Music: I'm also all over the map. From Venus Hum to Johnny Winter, The Knife, ebtg, Tracy Thorn, anything on Buzzin' Fly Records, Kate Nash, The Pretenders(especially the early stuff), Cameo, Throwing Muses, Prince, Zero 7, Valley Lodge, Alison Moyet, Sia, Regina Spektor....I was raised on classical music and still listen. Slowly developing a taste for opera.....
Food: Especially like Thai, Italian and Mediterranean. Heat is a good thing. Fast food I cannot bring myself to eat anymore. Not to say I didn't consider it one of the four major food groups as a kid.

My daughters, books, naps, nature, family and these two creatures I feed for god knows why referred to as cats. Okay, actually I could live without cats, but I wouldn't be as entertained.

the world. How people who are selfish get like that (not really, but it does kind of amaze and appall me). Travel, like where I'd like to go. Things I'd like to do and how to achieve them. What I can do make things a little better.

How to make my mind more helpful to me.

If I'm out, usually to some kind of performance or music and a nice dinner.
Or I'm in, making a nice dinner for my daughters and reading.

I'm trying to think of something salacious.......but history fails me.

If you aren't too serious, but know when to be. If you can find amusement in just about everything. If you love to laugh. If you like to have fun, eat well and enjoy life for what it is, an amazing journey. If you care about what's going on in the world. If you ultimately want a relationship.
