My self-summary
I may be a troll, but not the bad forum-trolling kind (think betailed creatures with a dislike for sunshine and a tendency to kidnap fair maidens).

Speculative fiction, bizarre animals, good (and usually more or less unclassifiable) music and ginger sweets are important to me. I am polyamorous, love dressing up and have plenty of people living in my brain, many of whom I have known for longer than most of my physical friends and acquaintances.

Some day, I will achieve world domination armed with a piece of dentist equipment.

Some kind of disclaimer:

I am aware that OK Cupid is a dating site, but that's not why I'm here. Actually, I was unaware of it when I joined; I did it because I thought it'd be fun to keep track of my test results. :B

Anyway, I think the net is good for communicating with people, and it's certainly possible to make friends without ever meeting them, but for a physical/romantic relationship to work there are questions of a chemical nature that can't be answered without meeting the person in Meatspace first. And, well, even if I was desperate to hook up with someone, I'm currently living in a village in northern Sweden, most likely far away from anyone reading this, so it's unlikely that this site would be very helpful in that respect anyway.

I'm still interested in talking to new people and making friends, but please don't bother writing if you're only looking for someone to shag.

Also, I should mention that I log in here really unfrequently. If you've sent a message and not received an answer, it could simply be that I didn't see it until months afterwards. (Well, this was true when I wrote it. Now, it might as well say that I don't log in here at all. This was the first login for, what, over a year? I can has LiveJournal; if for some reason you really feel like contacting me, try there.)

What I’m doing with my life
Whatd'yaknow, I've finally left the stagnancy of my hometown and am now residing at a school for arts and artisan crafts. This may lead to nothing in a professional sense, but hopefully I'll learn a thing or two about applied creativity and independence. Already they're pushing me past the sketch stage, which is a good thing, even if I suspect I've gone utterly out of my depth half of the time.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This section will obviously never be complete. Nevertheless...

Books

I like most everything Pratchettian and Gaimanesque. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin made mediaeval fantasy worth reading again, which is quite a feat. Cyber- and steampunky things are fun, as is alternative history and post-apocalyptica. That does not, alas, mean that it's all that easy to find good books within these genres. I'm not a fully fledged comic book geek, but that's mostly due to economical restraints. Oh, and Voltaire could kick Rousseau's arse any day. Post-mortem deathmatch!

Movies

This section is particularly incomplete, as I am le tired. Ah, well. Delicatessen, Twelve Monkeys, Orlando, Fargo, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Gormenghast, Casablanca, and a variety of old horror movies are all worth watching more than once.

Music

Listing music is tricky. I don't really stick to any specific genre, and any list of bands I might compile will inescapably lack many important artists. But whatever.

List of Doom: Kaisers Orchestra, Dead Kennedys and other Jello Biafra related stuff, the Dresden Dolls, Nick Cave, the Scissor Sisters, Adam and the Ants, Leonard Cohen, The Robot Ate Me, Flogging Molly, Jill Tracy, Sopor Aeternus, Tom Waits, the Distillers, The Smiths and Morrissey, Theatre of Tradegy, Patti Smith, Samsas Traum (their a.Ura und das Schneckenhaus album at least, I've not heard much else by them), the Decemberists, Garmarna, Johnny Cash, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Voltaire, Danny Elfman, Tori Amos. I find good narrative lyrics very shiny. And I listen to the March of the Sinister Ducks a bit too often for it to be entirely healthy.

Food

I am a vegetarian, and have been for some nine years now. I live on spicy Samyang Ramen noodles, very dark chocolate (especially if there's coffee involved somehow), Trocadero, kiwi fruit, various kinds of cheese snacks and the type of snacks that claim to be Thai or Japanese, and all those other things I didn't mention.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Armadillos and cannibalism. Other stuff too, of course, but everyone does that.
