I am awkward, queer, and mercurial.

My Self-Summary

queerasfuck. I go to PSU. I'm a huge geek, and a drummer. I generally prefer the company of queers, crusty kids and travelling folk. I am not butch nor femme, nor prone to making lasting decisions regarding how to gender my presentation or present my gender. I am however tough as hell, I wrestle, I ride skateboards, and build shit out of wood. I'm a grumpy political activist, I'm feminist, genderqueer. I've been described as a clam, but I think I'm just safe.

I have a super soft spot in my heart for tough femmes (hi and lo).

i need yoga partners, more bike riding buddies and more hot queers to dance with. A note on sexuality: I recently changed my marker to "Bisexual" but that's bullshit, gender is no more a binary than the moon is made out of cheese. I am totally attracted to men... just very, very few of them.

A note to women: I like you. a lot. we should make out.

A note to men: I will probably not like you. I am infintely more picky about male identified folk, i.e. you must be a feminist, radically political in a socialist/anarchist sense, into similar music, into dykey girls, etc. etc.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm political first. I prefer pragmatism over utopic fantasies, but still spend a lot of time fantasizing. I am collecting skills like a survivalist skillionaire, while critiquing survivalism. I play drums in a queercore band, and go to school for Architectureand Women's Studies. I want to be a better person, a better friend, a better lover. I want to discover the perfect rhythm that connects me to everything.

I’m really good at

Drums, being socially awkward. Over thinking everything. I am an amazing cook. I give great back rubs. Hiding in plain sight.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm kinda tall... but generally unremarkable in terms of appearance.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Octavia Butler novels, feminist theory, queer stuff Jared Diamond's Guns Germs and Steel and Collapse. Michael Pollan's The Omnivores Dilemma. Microcosm zines. Audre Lorde. Audre Lorde (extra emphasis). Michelle Tea is a helpful booktrack to my life. Spanish to English Dictionaries. Books about sustainability and herbalism. Food Not Lawns. Cookbooks.

I don't really focus much on movies, I like them, but I don't remember any movie quotes. Except maybe Monty Python, Science Fiction, oh Shortbus!

I listen to a lot of music. Riotgrrl, PJ Harvey, radiohead, dredg, the specials, Bad Religion, Chris Pureka, Coldplay, The Decemberists, The Noisettes, Dresden Dolls, Fiona Apple, Flogging Molly, Tiger Army, Fugazi, The Gossip, Refused, The (international) Noise Conspiracy, Johnny Cash, Julieta Venegas, Antonin Dvorak, Lauryn Hill, Lhasa De Sela, Lucinda Williams, Manu Chao, The Mars Volta, Mirah, Mos Def, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Rancid, Regina Spektor, Tegan and Sarah, Tracy Chapman, The Yeah Yeah Yeah's and a hell of a lot more.

The six things I could never do without

I'm constantly working to be less materialistic, and I don't really believe in possession as a mode of interacting with the world. Six luxuries I really enjoy having are:

My Drumset My Computer My Kitchen My two or three outfits that make me feel attractive My bike

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Girls. Books. Music. Love. Cooking. Sex. The Meaning Of Life.

On a typical Friday night I am

At home, or at the pub where I work.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

lets just say the world hasn't been especially nice to me.

You should message me if

you think I'm hot, you want to be friends, you play music and live in my area, or you are a deliciously attractive queer who I might want to flirt with.
