I am sassy [irreverent], coy, and bittersweet [hip].

My Self-Summary

I'm a composite of the people I meet, my personal experiences, and the ideas of myself and others.

A firm believer in personal responsibility and critical analysis, I think that conversation, critique, and congruence about anything (and everything) is of great importance.

There's a lot to be said and a lot to be learned.

I'm currently really interested in the topics of: the sociology of technology and its interpretation of information, hair, feminism, body image, and conversational language.

I'm a full-fledged feminist and fully believe in fat acceptance, and so should you.

As my sister puts it, "If you look like you smell, chances are she'll like you."

What I’m doing with my life

Taking a stab at being a professional student, this is my fourth year. But, last year, I decided to add a kink to the situation--I transferred schools.

So, I'm enjoying my time in the DFW area. I'm active on campus in a few organizations and coalitions. I pepper my social life with activist shindigs, drunken debauchery, and making dinner for friends.

I’m really good at

delving into the human condition and making people comfortable in their skin; giggling

The first things people usually notice about me

To be quite honest, they usually notice my hair or my clothing options.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

a.) I Know This Much Is True. Communion. Frankenstein. Fast Food Nation.

b.) Closer. I Heart Huckabees. Magnolia. Chumscrubber. Requiem for a Dream. American History X. United States of Leland. White Oleander. The Goodbye Girl. The Life of David Gale. American Beauty. And The Band Played On. Charlie Bartlett. Wristcutters:A Love Story

c.) Hanson. Modest Mouse. Tom Waits. Neutral Milk Hotel. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. The Black Keys. Crystal Skulls. CSNY. Justice. RJD2. Fiona Apple. Dresden Dolls. The Faint. Jonny Lang. The Gossip. Animal Collective. Tegan and Sara. Daft Punk. Explosions in the Sky. Miles Davis. Dave Brubeck Quartet. Ray LaMontagne. Atmosphere. Aesop Rock. Sia. MGMT. Panda Bear. Grizzly Bear. i Monster. Akron/Family. Bon Iver. Radiohead. Fleet Foxes. Dustin O'Halloran

d.) Six Feet Under, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Golden Girls, Stranded with Cash Peters, Law and Order:SVU.

The six things I could never do without

vegan/veg foodstuffs, human interaction, adequate sleep, laughter, and creative ingenue

I spend a lot of time thinking about

life and its nuances; people, their actions, and the correlation between the two; sexuality; relationships; alternative lifestyles; conflict resolution; hair; procrastination; gender roles/rules; vices

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm shy and wild, a combination and contradiction of sorts.

Men with long hair (i.e., Jesus-style) is an Achilles Heel.

I saw this in a profile and decided to 'steal' it. "i'm coming to terms with the fact that neither you or i are as attractive as the few pictures we picked out of hundreds lead the other to believe we are."

You should message me if

you've got something to say.
