My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Logophile and music junkie with an outdoors bent. I try to take the stairs and drive with the windows down. I hold that "Whatever" is a phrase that should generally be replaced with "Hell, yeah!" and the question "What are you reading?" should always have an answer.

On a quest to find the best waterfalls, dumplings, cocoa, and brunch (not necessarily in one location...)

I'm very much into enjoying what I do, when I can't do what I enjoy.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Spent most of the last 5 years abroad as a Naval officer, but Newport is my last stop. Trying to jam pack as many live shows, runs, hikes, streaking sessions, great books, eschaton matches, treasure hunts, G.R.O.S.S. meetings, musings, and lazy sundays into the offtime as I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
-"Yes, and..."
-Looking up words I frequently use, every time I use them, to make sure they still mean what I think they mean (childhood hero turned cautionary tale #1: Vizzini.)
-Licking my elbow (I was a champion before the phantom limb juicers took over the sport)

I also recently learned how to make ice cubes the right way. I used to dump the extra water out so they wouldn't freeze together, but that's the part that makes them easier to grab! My cold-drink making efficiency has increased threefold.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes when I bike around the city I narrate the journey to myself. According to the looks I get, that's crazy talk. Maybe I need more fun facts.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-add9 Chords (Closely followed by major 7ths)
-Companions (Preferably of the brave sort...)
-Irony (Situational, that is)
-Ice Cream (Pretty sure I have a second stomach. No you can't dissect me for your thesis, unless maybe Phish Food is involved. Maybe.)
-Pockets (2nd greatest invention of all time.)
-A strawberry-banana-blueberry-kale-maple smoothie after a hard run.

And those runs where your shuffle picks all the perfect songs.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all

If anything will mean anything soon now that we've crossed the line and "literally" is literally its own antonym.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
If one of my favorite bands is playing within a 4 hour drive, I'm there.
In a vacuum, I prefer a nightspot where I can make eye contact and listen at the same time without having to out-trumpet an elephant herd, or one where swing dancing (poorly, for now) is encouraged.
I'm even happier to gather an intimate group on a collection of couches, perhaps settling Catan or Puerto Rico, nurturing a fire, or passing pictionary-telephone scrawlings around, laughing and creating new touchstones.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I lived in Bahrain, I often left the A/C on low enough that it was a little chilly without a blanket. I love the ability to curl up with a blanket. I'm so sorry, Earth.
