I'm an extremely dependable person and friend, self-reliant, inquisitive, career-oriented, and may appear a bit “nerdy” until people get to know me. Once I am comfortable with people the real me emerges….silly, funny and very warm and caring. People describe me as safe to be with during a tough time and I am a friend people call in time of need. I care for people deeply and become very loyal...in short, I have your back. People have described me as shy initially and then when they spend time with me, they wonder how they ever thought I was quiet!

I love adventure and new experiences. Little scares me as I am willing to try about anything provided it’s legal and mostly safe. ☺

I love to travel! In fact, my love of travel has provided me with living experiences in several places including Washington D.C. (my childhood home), Boston and London. I have lived in San Francisco for 11 years and love it! I'd like to think of myself as a mix between an east-coast traditionalist coupled with west-coast liberalism and open-mindedness. But, I’m neither traditional nor a bleeding heart…

I am an adventurer at heart and I absolutely love traveling and exploring new places and cultures. I am fluent in English and Spanish and enjoy experiencing the different ways people live.

I like to spend my free time outdoors hiking, running and biking, which is a huge reason why I love the Bay area so much because there are so many great places to be outside. If the weather is nice, you'll find me running in gg park or the presidio most weekends. I also enjoy a good book and a good movie and just crashing on the couch too sometimes.

I love going out to eat and have a short-list of restaurants where bartenders/servers know me by name. That said, I like trying new things and will give anything a try. I enjoy all types of restaurants from fancy 5-star places to down-home hole in the walls….actually some of my best memories have been in dives where they have great personality, are friendly and serve great comfort food.

Trying to keep my life balanced and simple, or better said: not over-complicate it, and continue to create fun and friendships.

My boss would say I’m really good at my job, but isn’t that boring to say on these things? So, I am good at creating adventure, fun, laughter, I’m a super speller, and I’m good at being a low-maintenance traveler. I enjoy camping, cooking, and having superb hand-eye-foot coordination and reflexes (I have sports to thank for that)

Reading: Ultramarathon man, Shadow of the Wind, Interpreter of Maladies, and authors such as Joan Didion, Barbara Kingsolver. Next on my list to read is Keith Richards's autobiography....I really can't believe that guy is still alive!

Movies: Anything from Scorsese, Breakfast Club, Juno, A River Runs Through It, and suspenseful crime thrillers are always top on my list too.

Shows: Mad Men, Treme, Parks and Rec, The Sopranos and Sex and the City reruns never get old, and does a Sunday NFL game count as a show?

Music: U2, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell, James Brown, Radiohead, Rolling Stones, Van Morrison. I can always find some really great songs on any jukebox and there's 1 in particular at a North Beach bar that I have manhandled beyond belief.

Food: anything that's bbq'd, dim sum, fresh pesto, vanilla milkshakes, and cold beer on a hot summer day.

It depends. On a fun night out, I'm usually catching happy hour and dinner with friends. A lower-energy night usually means stopping at the grocery store on the way home from work, making dinner, opening a bottle of wine and watching some recorded TV shows or a DVD. Either way, I don't usually stay out super late Friday nights as I’m tired and want to be sure I can kickstart my saturday morning activities in full gear bright and early.

I am great at Powerpoint and love economics.….On a more interesting note, I sang karaoke once and received absolutely NO applause. I mean the place was silent…..I like to think the silence was because I was soo good, but as it was in Germany, I understand silence is not demonstrative of a disaster….Either way, I doubt I’ll be trying karaoke again anytime soon.
