I’m pretty easy-going. I like going out to a movie, a day at the beach, and jogging along the Schuylkill; but I also enjoy cooking and can mix a mean whiskey cocktail or two. I’m optimistic and energetic so I’m happy doing really anything and I definitely draw energy from people around me. I was raised in the beachy suburbs of Southern California, came to the area for college, stuck around for work, and am starting medical school in the fall. I love suburban things but I’ve quickly grown to appreciate what Philadelphia has to offer, and certainly have a few favorite spots in town. I’m looking for someone complementary who is confident, down-to-earth, has good values, and makes me smile.

I spend my days researching Alzheimer's and Lou Gehrig's disease in a lab at Penn. I love my job and coworkers but decided to go back to school and will be starting in the fall. In preparation, I spend my evenings watching trashy TV, playing Halo, or dancing with Dance Central 3. Sidebar: I can't actually dance but I was somehow in the top percentile of Xbox players for a while. Elite company, indeed.

Pretending to rap. Listening to hipster bands. Being suburban. Acting urban. Driving. Dancing with Kinect. Listening. Singing?

I'm easily amused, particularly by my own jokes, so I chuckle to myself... a lot. I've also been told that I wear what I think on my face, whatever that means.

Food:I'll eat most anything that gets put in front of me. That said, at a fancy new restaurant I prefer pork jowl to roast chicken. It's my eating-good philosophy. Ask me about it!

Inside jokes. This is just my way of saying "friends and family" to whom I'm deeply loyal and thankful for.
Morning coffee. Black, maybe with stevia.
Something to look forward to. It's important for me to have direction, even if it's just a weekend photo walk, movie, or trip to Disneyland.
Cellphone. It's smart and helps me do everything, like google things at happy hour.
Camera. It's helped me to look at everything in new ways.
Xbox. Netflix, dancing, video chat, exercise, music, games.

Science and application to medicine. School. Friends and family. Race and gender relations. Ways to honestly better myself. What I need to make a sopapilla cheesecake pie.

Grabbing drinks with friends.

I get really uncomfortable when I'm hot. As such, I rock, subjectively, the skimpiest of shorts in the summer and have been known to begin unbuttoning my shirts at bars. I also tend to un-belt, un-button, and sometimes un-zip my pants between the men's room door and urinal. I have unfortunately almost-revealed myself to many strange men. You'd think I'd learn.

Also that might be the opposite of private.
