I am yawning, checking my watch, and waiting for friday.

My Self-Summary

I don't stand still for long. Whether its traveling inside WV for my job as a domestic violence attorney or exploring on my motorcycle, or spending time outside, kayaking, mountain biking, or skiing, I am almost always on the go and you usually hear me coming before I arrive. I do enjoy settling down- reading, watching movies, trying to cook, and some video games and board games.

I live in a big house in the country and have it all to myself. I enjoy having friends over for campfires, air hockey, monopoly, and guitar hero.

My friends call me a renaissance man. I went to law school, but I can replace a transmission, rebuild an engine, weld up my own trailer, and I'm trained in first aid/CPR. I cooked a turkey for thanksgiving all by myself. I love hugs and I give great back rubs. I'd like to think I'm full of surprises...

What I’m doing with my life

I'm an attorney who moved back to his hometown of Morgantown in August (from Martinsburg, and before that, from Houston, TX). I practice family law, and though my office is in town, my service areas are primarily near Keyser, Moorefield, and Romney, so I drive a lot. I work for an organization that provides no cost legal services to victims of domestic violence, so I don't make a ton of money, but I do make a big difference in the lives of my clients.

I’m really good at

I'm really good at making people laugh and getting people to open up. I'm loud and I can be a little offensive because I say things the way I see em, with very little BS, so some people don't know how to take me, but usually, once I get em laughing, they come around.

The first things people usually notice about me

The one thing that everyone notices about me right off the bat is that I talk. A LOT. I'm no-holds-barred, no topic spared, up front and honest. I talk about whats on my mind and I can usually talk for about as long as you'd care to listen. It doesn't take me long to ease people out of their shells and into my world.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm always reading something. I'm constantly spouting off random facts I pick up from magazines, books, and newspapers. John Grisham to Jodi Piccolt, I've always got a book with me, just in case. I read every night before bed, too.

I listen to nearly everything, and I mean that. My presets on my Sirius satellite radio include NPR talk radio, punk, 90's, rap, country, alternative, comedy radio, metal, and more. My CD's include everything from trance to opera. I'll go see any live concert.

I like watching movies and even a bad movie with a friend is usually an evening well spent.

For food, I'm down for almost anything. I've had friends from many different cultures and I love trying new things. I've had haggis, frog legs, baby octopus, chicken foot soup, and some indian desert that had balls made from sour milk in it. I love steak and seafood in particular, though.

The six things I could never do without

Six things I could never do without:

1) My blackberry bold. It holds my contacts, my music, my driving directions, my maps, my lookup for restaurants, movie tickets, myspace, facebook, poker... I don't get reception at home though.

2) My Nissan Pathfinder. Whether its traversing snowy roads to my remote counties for work in the winter, or carrying my mountain bike and kayak in the summer, I love my pathy. It doesn't let things get between me and where I'm going.

3) Q tips. I just can't live without them.

4) Music. Whether its my Sirius satellite radio, Pandora, or my MP3's, its gotta be on.

5) My family. My family has been there for me through thick and thin. I have 3 brothers, and though we didn't know it when we were little, we turned out to be each others best friends in a lot of ways. My parents are divorced but both still live close and both hold a special place in my heart.

6) Change. By the time each season ends, I'm ready for the next one to start. I love living in 4 seasons country and getting all kinds of different weather. Like everyone, I fall into my own routines, but a little change is a good thing.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Synonyms- why do we teach kids English, with all its synonyms, and also foreign languages, but in seperate classes?
What if we just mixed all the foreign words in and taught them like synonyms? Eventually we'd all speak the same huge language.

On a typical Friday night I am

Plotting and scheming. Hoping and dreaming.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Putting private things in public ensures only that they will never be private again.
