Oh wow. It's like having to pick a favorite child. Since I'm not a
fan of top 10 lists, I'll just throw some names out there.
Books -- anything historical (preferably biographies or American
history), anything nonfiction involving musicians, St. Louis, or
true crime. As far as fiction goes, I'm a big fan of Christopher
Moore, Chuck Palhaniuk, Stephen King, and Neil Gaiman. I have more
books than pairs of shoes (I have like seven pairs of shoes, so
that's not saying a lot) and always have one with me.
Movies -- Anything besides chick flicks. I'm serious. I'd rather
sit down and watch Reservoir Dogs than have to sit through The
Notebook. I'm also really into Fight Club, any Kevin Smith movie
(except Jersey Girl -- what the hell was that?!), horror films,
independent movies, and documentaries. Basically, if it involves a
romantic struggle between two characters, I won't watch it. If it's
anything like The Big Lebowski or Office Space, bring it on.
Shows -- I have my shows, believe me. I loved Breaking Bad and
Dexter before they ended (sigh). I'm into The Following, Walking
Dead, American Horror Story, and nonfiction shows -- Mysteries at
the Museum, Pawn Stars, Anthony Bourdain -- that type of
Music -- Do you have a week? I'm pretty down with anything
musically. My tastes are extremely eclectic, ranging from classical
to opera to dubstep to Mississippi delta blues all the way up to
the music stylings of the Beatles and Lou Reed. I grew up in the
90s, so Pearl Jam and Sonic Youth are always going to have a
special place , in my heart. I'm not too into rap or pop music. I
love metal -- not just like Metallica, but bands like Slayer,
Pantera, Opeth, Emperor, etc.
Food -- I'll try anything once. I don't like pickles, raisins,
beets, or cole slaw. Other than that, I'm good. My favorite foods
are Italian, Mexican, sushi, BLTs and PBJs.
