My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a pretty relaxed and easy-going kind of person. I like to keep stress to a minimum. We have enough thrust upon us without creating more. I'm open-minded and try not to be judgmental of others. I like to laugh and love a woman with a good sense of humor. I can be sarcastic, but not cruelly so. Even so, you can't take yourself too seriously; I know I don't.

I've just moved to the bay area last year, so I'm still finding things to do here. I want to hear about all your favorite things! I'm not a club type or a party person, but I like going to see a concert on occasion or spending an evening at a jazz club. Movies and other performances are always good.

I tend to go for the creative and geeky type, but if you don't wear glasses that's fine with me. I'm not looking to get married or to have children in the next six months, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. I keep my mind open and let life happen.

I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm a man of many talents, but one of the best is not answering questions I don't want to answer.

My stunning good looks. Just kidding. I don't know what people notice about me.

I like horror, comedy, drama, suspense, thrillers, just about anything except chick flicks. I tend to like foreign, indie, older, and other non-mainstream movies. Popular movies tend to be a little too formulaic, but sometimes still entertaining. From my Netflix history: Chinatown (I love noir), Jobs (not too bad), Sushi: The Global Catch (a good documentary about the effects of the popularity of sushi), Our Idiot Brother (kinda funny), Ridicule (good period piece), Shadow of the Sword (not as mindless as I expected). I also saw a funny movie recently called The Independent. It was a mockumentary about a B-movie director. Definitely worth watching if you like bad movies. And I do like bad movies: The Room, Troll 2, Manos. I can't help but torment myself sometimes :-).

I don't watch any shows regularly. Except maybe The Daily Show and Steven Colbert. Some shows I do like are Louie, Arrested Development, Game of Thrones. Also documentaries like Ken Burns' stuff, or East to West, or History of Britain. I recently watched Silicon Valley and found it very funny and the characters a little too real.

I like many kinds of music from jazz to rock to blues to metal to soul. Of the top of my head, I like Miles Davis, Metallica, Erykah Badu, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Billie Holiday, Chet Baker, Jill Scott, RHCP, Iron Maiden, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker. So all kinds of music, really.

I'm open to just about anything as long as its not still moving. Except artichokes. Yuck. I'm also a willing guinea pig if you look to cook.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Why does it have to be six? Really the only things I couldn't do without are food, water, air, and the fundamental forces. Beyond that I'm flexible.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
What to put in this essay. Really, I think about many things and I find it hard to distill my thoughts down to a few sentences.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday nights are usually my night to unwind. I can stay home and relax with a drink or go to a movie.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Anything I'd admit here would no longer be private. Seems like a trap.
