My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm pretty mellow/neutral about most things, one could call me opinion-less, except when I do form an opinion, it tends to sway pretty far to either of the extremes. That probably aptly describes most aspects of my life -- I don't care, until I care, at which point, I really care.

Grew up in the bay area and it's pretty hard to imagine wanting to live anywhere else, really. Climate is for suckers; I prefer it to be perfect weather all the time (though I guess we could really go for some rain).

I'm a software engineer and I'm not really ashamed to say I'm pretty nerdy. My big plan to balance that out was to go play adult kickball -- it is quite fantastic.

I enjoy working on things, so at any given time, my mind is full of projects I'd like to get around to. Most of the time, I do an immense amount of research and planning and then find myself winging it. It's fun that way.

So that's my ramble! Don't really know how to conclude it, but luckily, there's more questions and answers below!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Pretty typical software engineering life -- working at a tech start up in Palo Alto.

Trying to keep my life in balance by going out and spending time with friends when I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Tinkering around and building things that I want... for example, a sweet kegerator
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I can be loud? And you'd think it'd conflict, but I also like to think I'm a pretty good listener (but that probably would be something to notice after getting to know me).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books (am open to book suggestions... I feel the need to be better read): Ender's Game, Harry Potter series (3rd and 5th are my favorites), Rich Dad Poor Dad, and the Name of the Wind (it's fantastic)

Movies: The Incredibles, Memento, The Prestige, Batman Begins (apparently I'm a big Christopher Nolan fan)

TV Shows: Chuck, Top Chef, and really anything on USA (Burn Notice, Suits, White Collar, Royal Pains...)

Music: Neon Trees, Rise Against, and anything by John Williams (that guy is a musical genius). Also, I recently discovered a channel on Spotify that is the soundtrack from the TV series Chuck... and it is quite awesome.

Oh, and I love musicals.

Food: pretty much anything is good really. who doesn't love food? but cilantro tastes like metal to me... so, maybe not that
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Dreams
- calendar/planner
- parents
- beer
- skiing
- my roomba
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to cook. It'd be sweet to be able to just whip up something fancy-schmancy whenever I get hungry... buuuut... I usually just end up throwing stuff into a pot and calling it a meal.

While I'm not too great at planning my life, I like to daydream a lot about optimization. Optimizing anything really: sprinkler layouts at home, opening board game moves, computer code...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably being regretful about how I didn't go to the gym as many times (or at all!!!) during the week... while sitting on the couch pigging out to a tub of ice cream. Then cracking open a new beer and getting over it.

Oh -- and I just bought a new bbq meat smoker, so I've been tinkering around w/ cooking anything with that. It's delicious.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I often times find myself singing along to Katy Perry. What can I say, her songs are catchy.
