My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi there, I'm Andy. And this is my nightmare...

Yours too? Isn't it pathetic that it's so hard to meet someone that shares a perspective with you? Where do you meet people when you're not into drinking, wading through hipsters at coffee shops, or met with repulsion when you try to watch them through their bedroom window (I'm working on that bedroom window thing).

I think I'm a good catch for someone. I've been in serious relationships before, have my own place, have a good career, am not totally socially inept, have a really good sense of humor, a great imagination, and a caring disposition.

Around the house, I like reading, listening to music, playing the guitar, cooking, watching a few select shows or ridiculous movies (I've got a thing for zombies especially), and playing games. But, I also like getting out and walking places, hiking, bike riding, weekend trips (especially the mountains), going to plays, and visiting a museum. It would be nice to share those things with someone. And, I'd LOVE to meet someone that's into gardening--that's something I'd like to begin doing, but I don't have a clue where to start.

I get along well with all kinds of people, but I gravitate more towards introspective, compassionate, intelligent, and creative girls. Readers are great, offbeat interests, contemplative minds... Someone with an interesting point of view or interest. Hopefully you like music as much as I do and can get a kick out of the absurd. I don't really enjoy being around heavy drinkers/party girls and sorry, just not attracted to tattoos or heavy make up. Though I'm very respectful of religion, I'm probably not a good match for religious girls as I tend to view religions very metaphorically. I value the questions, but I distrust the answers. :)

I love animals and recently adopted a dog. The plan was to get a cat too, but that's on hold until the dog can be reasoned with.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I’m a librarian/IT monkey. It's actually a really fun job and I work with a lot of interesting, intelligent, and cool people. We have a lot more fun than you'd think in a library. I've got stories...
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Figuring things out. Being helpful... I tend to look out for people. I've also got a great imagination and I think that gives me a unique, creative way of seeing the world. I'm also very caring and tend to put the needs of others before myself (sometimes to my detriment)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People compliment my smile and warmth. I strive to be very authentic and genuine, so I'm glad it shows.

Old ladies love my curly hair... why not the cute younger girls...? :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books… I recently participated in a graphic novel reading club--not my usual thing, but I found a lot I liked (Hellboy, Fables, Watchmen). I sometimes read old horror (Lovecraft, Poe), some fantasy (Tolkien and the like), and also literature and poetry (Yeats and Eliot are favorites). Some other favorites are White Noise by Don Delillo, Green Man by Kingsley Amis, and Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins.

Movies… I enjoy things with a supernatural twist. And, I’ve got more zombie movies than you’d even believe. It’s kind of an obsession. Absurd movies are fun too (think 80s). I also like grown up movies like Bergman’s The Seventh Seal, anything by Kurasawa, and Joseph Campbell documentaries (mythology).

Television... Old stuff mostly. A favorite is The Twilight Zone. Watched/got upset by Lost, Walking Dead (but it's SUCKING!), and I watch The Office when it comes out on DVD. Otherwise, it's probably old Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, or stupid sitcoms from the past. :) Also been through a big British TV show phase: Spaced, Black Books, Big Train, Nighty Night, and the IT Crowd. Also recently found Portlandia and love it.

Music… I love music and have a big collection. I've been listening to a ton of Radiohead lately (saw them in March!). I like progressive rock bands from the 70's (Yes, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Rush), but I love all sorts of stuff and try to get out to buy new music a couple times a month. Lately, I've discovered An Horse, Goldfrapp, Kaki King, Tegan and Sara, She and Him, Muse, MGMT, Air, and some others. Some other favorites are The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Queen, The Flaming Lips, XTC, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Donovan, Pentangle, Nick Drake, Tim Buckley, Michael Hedges and so many more... I play a little guitar and tend to really get interested in novel or unique guitar players.

Food… I actually stopped eating meat about 3 years ago though I don't really call myself a vegetarian. It doesn't bother me to see people eat meat. Super east to dine with, so don't let that scare you. :) I also love me some sour candy.

A large portion of my brain is reserved for commercial jingles from the 1980's and 90's. It's pretty sad.
