My self-summary
My name is Andrew.
I'm a student now and an artist forever.
I go to Reed college, but a Texan to the core (REMEMBER THE ALAMO); it's safe to say though, I don't have too many of the nasty Texas cooties.
I really love clothes. Someone once told me, "Life isn't a game of dressup!" Oh... but it is for me. I take pride in my eclectic variety of wardrobe. It's fun. It's an enhancement. I think it has to do with my interest in aesthetics in general. It's not vanity; it's an exercise in art in daily life.
I'm open and energetic. I love sharing thoughts; ideas are always flowing, some important, the best ones, asinine, but why not? I suppose. I like to live life without too many limitations, but I love the safety of what I hold dear.
People call me "funny" but I prefer the term "goofy." Funny is a generalization; goofy is more accurate. That's better. Don't you think?
Well, as Buck Strickland of TV's King of the Hill once said, "I am physically addicted to the good times." Now, I wouldn't say that is quite my case, but it makes sense, no? If I don't get some kicks out of it, why bother. Only do what is beloved! If something is tough, make sure it pays off the way it should in the end.

Life has always been good to me, in my opinion, so I am rarely on a low note (except the STRESS, ugh), and I love spreading the joy!

What I’m doing with my life
I go to Reed college. It's a kick, but it's also a kick in the ass. Naturally, I am entirely in love with the place.
Not expecting much of a job any time, except for the odd thing here and there on my break times mostly, but the starving artist lifestyle will do.Really, I'd take a worn, bohemian suit and second-hand shoes over a tailored number any day.
My long term goal: Say something that people listen too, but call it art so they think it's fun. As Lucretius would have said, put a little honey in the medicine, and people will drink it.
Mostly, I'm honing my philosophy, finding what truly interests me, particularly in the theatre. I've gone through a lot of obsessions, personal artistic fads, and I'm learning from it. Right now, I'm extremely fascinated by the patriarchy of the body, mostly inspired by the writings of Antonin Artaud.

I’m really good at
I'm a reader of people. I can almost see into the soul through the eyes, whether the soul be troubled, tranquil, or ecstatic. It makes me a good friend, I suppose, when someone needs a shoulder to lean on or a partner in crime.
I write some as a hobby, but not much, and the reader should really judge the quality in this case.
I've sung all my life, and although I don't have many formal outlets these days, it pervades.
Theatre has been good to me in practice and in study, and I hope it would say the same about me, and I guess it does. Maybe I over or understate it, but I love the craft, so I guess I'm good at liking it if nothing else!

The first things people usually notice about me
My height, my big voice, my funny facial expressions, my since of style.
On closer inspection, people always tend to point out my sense of humor and my comforting presence.
I do take very good care of my hair, too, so it is rather perky and nice hahah.
In conversation, I always have something to say. I don't dominate, but I engage enough to draw attention. My more cruel acquaintances label it as a kind of Narcissism, but I disagree; I just do it for the lolz, honestly.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Some of my favorite Authors:
Federico Garcia Lorca, Tennessee Williams, Flannery O'Connor, Paul Auster, Tom Stoppard, Jean Paul Sartre, Antonin Artaud, Alfred Jerry, Eugene Ionesco, Henrik Ibsen, Anton Chekov
Some specific works-
Titus Andronicus, The Quiet American, Waiting for Godot, Interior, Fahrenheit 451, God is Dead, The Oresteia
As for movies, I love anything Disney and plenty of that crap. Some films worth mentioning:
Cecil B. Demented, Reefer Madness, The Red Violon, O Brother Where Art Thou, Inception
I kind of watch a lot of movies, but some genres whose titles are too numerous to innumerate are action, tongue-in-cheek satirical type things, sci-fi, the lot. I don't care for a lot of the fluffy stuff. I'm not a snob, but the writing of most popular stuff of the modern day just doesn't cut it.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I doodle when I think, or at least if there's a pen in my hand a paper under it. A lot of my untapped creative ponderings come out through that, and although they don't usually come to any concrete fruition, it helps me think about them. I suppose that's a fancy way of saying: Daydreaming with illustrations.
WORK
The good times!
The bad times...
WORK
The great times!
What's for dinner?
Cigarettes
WORK
And all in between, thinking of new, more insidious ways to verbally disintegrate the English language with evermore abbreviated, re-emphasized, re-defined, re-spelled versions of words than ever thought of before!!! Most of all, I have to figure out how to make myself sound normal when the time is right. Oh dear...

On a typical Friday night I am
Chillin' with peeps and whatnot...
I guess I party down in some scandalous or controversial ways in terms of methods, but some people like that (you know who you are), and some people do not (you know who you are). It's fun for me, and not constant or addictive.
It's not all I do, anyway. I see movies, go to dinner, go to parties and the like. I take my free time when I get it and live it up to its full.
