My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a positive, heartfelt person who has plenty of spunk. I try new things all the time. I enjoy watching movies with my awesome dogs. I like karaoke. I'm creative, and I know a lot about music. I like cooking and try new recipes regularly. I grew up with a strong appreciation for the outdoors and feel my best when hiking and camping. I'd love to get into fishing again. I've camped the entire Oregon coast, but my favorite spot is a special little place in northern CA. I've extensively explored the southwest and driven cross country many times. I teach at the local university and am greatly fulfilled by my work. I'm a life long learner, for sure. I've traveled to many different countries and want to continue checking out the world. I'm starting to explore the idea of doing a big sailing trip. I'm from PA, and I lived in NM for 6 years before relocating to OR a few years back. My future is wide open and flexible, and I'm excited to discover the next adventure while thoroughly enjoying life as it is.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Having a fantastic time!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Staying positive, dancing my butt off at Zumba, chatting, seeing various perspectives, entertaining myself, playing with children and animals, playing in general, meeting new people, sharing my emotions, following through on my word, reflecting on my personal and professional goals and growth, singing, finding great music, having a good time, intimacy (with the right person). I connect easily to people. I know how to be proper and how to totally let loose.

Favorite things: My dogs, music, nature, technology, NPR, learning, libraries, coffeehouses, a full pub for karaoke night...
What I'm reading: Books about sailing adventures, books for my administrative program, Little Women, and Animal Speak. I love the classics- great stories, yummy language, excellent writing). I also adore literature for children and young adults. I teach literacy courses and like to stay current. Plus, books for young people seem to have the best plots. Recently discovered Sextrology- amazing book! Just started reading Wild.
Movies I Appreciate: Coen Brothers (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Oh Brother) & Wes Anderson films (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom), Scott Pilgrim, Zombieland, romantic comedies, documentaries. I also like the Godfather & Lord of the Rings & Star Wars. Amelie is great. My movies preferences are all over the place.
TV: I LOVE Northern Exposure. Buffy rocks. Modern Family is funny. I only watch TV through Netflix.
Music: This could take all day. I lean towards indie folk, rock and pop. I like Americana, hip hop, dance. There are very few music genres I don't care for, like heavy metal and some kinds of jazz. Otherwise, I'm fairly well versed. I wouldn't want to live without music.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Personal growth and my dreams. Reflecting on my day/week/month/year. How to be the best teacher possible. Current events. My family and their well being. Nature.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?

I'm a self-made person. I decide what/how/who I want to be and I make it happen even if it takes a long time and a lot of work. I don't like to be judged before I've told my story. It's been an eventful 32 years, so the stories come out over time to people I choose to connect with long term. It's a good story.
