My self-summary
Born in Pittsburgh, where I fell in love with the western Pennsylvania hills and woods, where I loved to run as a teenager. Moved to North Carolina for school, where I met the people who remain my dearest friends to this day. After a year coaching cross-country (and drinking great North Carolina beer) in Durham, I came to New York to try to chase a dream of having a great job in books. Now I work for one of the best literary agencies in town, am starting a business designing databases for other people in the literary world with a friend, and am otherwise trying to settle in to the fact that, nearly four years in now, it's starting to look like I'm a New Yorker.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love folk music, especially sad folk music sung by women. Not sure what that says about me. Also Bruce Springsteen.

As for books, my favorite is usually whatever the best book I've read for work in the last month or so. Favorite authors include Italo Calvino, J.M. Coetzee, John McPhee, etc.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Books!

How to be good and open and yourself and loving in 21st century New York City.

You agree with me (or are open to the idea) that although our brains are wonderful things, and you want to be with someone who challenges you intellectually, you also think that our brains aren't our most important attributes. Sometimes I think our brains get in the way of our guts (or, as they say, our hearts) too often.
