People can always tell that I'm from California, no matter how many years I've been here. I walk like a New Yorker though, and I get frustrated by slow walkers, which is very un-Californian of me.

I like to focus on people's faces when I talk to them. I always notice eye color. I like to guess what music people are listening to on the subway. I think about the past more than the future. I replay my favorite movie scenes in my head when I can't fall asleep. I always watch movies to the end, even if they're horrible. I don't like to write or read in silence. I'd like to go backpacking more. I'm still a little scared of spiders. And bees. I like getting songs stuck in my head. I like getting lost in faraway cities.

Working in publishing, writing plays, doing yoga, traveling, taking pictures, planning my next trip.

Watching movies late at night, making cookies, procrastinating, reading five books at once, daydreaming, making small talk, not getting hit by cars, multitasking.

I look people in the eye. I ask a lot of questions.

I'm a vegetarian, but not a patronizing one. I love Thai, Indian, and Mexican food.

Stories that I read, movies that I see, things I hear people talking about on the street, music that I like, places that I want to travel to, what a mess the country is in, why I said the stupid thing I said last week, what I'm going to do next Friday, why I can't stop thinking and concentrate on my breath during yoga class, why the word spiritual makes me uncomfortable.

Out and about, at a concert, a play, an opera, a ballet, a dance party.

As a kid I collected collections. I still have some of my pog collection, my coin collection, and my Beauty and the Beast trading card collection.

You are not at all religious, you can watch at least two movies in a row, you admire dogs in the street, you're taller than me, you like to see the world.
