I am spirited, stubborn, and sassy.
My Self-Summary
I am in my second year of AmeriCorps*VISTA and have mixed feelings
about it. I work in higher ed and have mixed feelings about it. I'm
pretty sure I know what I want to do with my life and I have mixed
feelings about that.
I grew up in New York City and have lived in India, Alaska, and
Wisconsin. I love Vermont and I hate Los Angeles. I love and will
eat all vegetables and all meats except for moose.
I love to people-watch and eavesdrop. It's one of my favorite past
times. I like to discuss these people with the people I am with.
Nicely, of course.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm learning how to be an adult. Slowly, but surely. I'm also
indulging in Wisconsin's summer offerings one fest at a time.
I’m really good at
creating puns, asking questions, listening to the answers, making
mix cds, Scrabble, wasting time on the internet, writing letters,
talking with my hands, pet-sitting, losing track of time while
reading, backgammon.
The first things people usually notice about me
I wear a big turquoise ring on the ring finger of my right hand.
I've been told that it is quite noticeable. I also have large blue
eyes and a larger forehead.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I like all of these things tremendously. Too much, in fact, to pick
favorites. Ask me about my favorites of the moment.
I always love:
a) Interpreter of Maladies, Pedagogy of the Oppressed and The
History of Love.
b) This is Spinal Tap, The African Queen and Adventures in
Babysitting.
c) bluegrass, indie rock and showtunes.
d) sushi, South Indian dosas, and all food appropriate for
brunch.
e) The West Wing, Arrested Development and The Rachel Maddow Show.
The six things I could never do without
live music, NPR, sense of touch, close friends and family, a water
bottle, a method to my madness
I spend a lot of time thinking about
politics, dinner, octopuses, color combinations, letters I want to
write, spending less time on the internet, fonts, how and when I
can get back to India
On a typical Friday night I am
figuring out what to do with my weekend. I'm not so good with the
advanced planning.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I read several celebrity gossip blogs daily and I know most of the
words to Poker Face by Lady Gaga.
You should message me if
if you think that the cleverness of a word is more important than
the points it's worth on the Scrabble board. if you are easily
charmed by the wonders of Wisconsin and would like an exploring
companion. if you need a charming date to a dinner party.
