I was born and spent a good chunk of my life in Germany. Cue stereotype. Yes, I do drive fast. I’m punctual and expect the same from others (there, I said it). I’m good at math. I probably would’ve made a decent engineer. But no, I’m not actually an engineer. I like wine much better than beer. I do not own a dirndl, nor will I ever. I have an abysmal sense of direction. I smile a lot and talk to strangers in elevators. And if you were looking for the accent, well, you’ll have to keep looking.
Somewhere between Boston and Germany, there were stints in Australia, Argentina and New Hampshire. I never really planned on moving to Boston, but I’ve lived here a little over two years now and New England has started to feel like home, including my quasi-adoptive Irish-Italian family on the South Shore. So it’s pretty likely that I’ll stick around, if not for good, then definitely for a while.
However, maybe you can help me with a few things that I still haven’t figured out… How do I get from Cambridge to South Boston without getting lost in those tunnels? Best spot for kiteboarding that doesn’t get mobbed during the summer? Great Mexican restaurant, anywhere within 50 miles? Anyone?
