My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My name is Ryan. I'm a musician, I play in a couple bands and also do a lot of solo gigs. I make about half my money that way and the other half by driving for UberX. I care about people more than just about anything. I love to think about everything, I love to question everything; I love to make noise out of it.

You know, I really don't feel like writing an essay about myself here. There's enough info in the rest of the profile to get you started.

Also, I read okcupid profiles backward.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm playing in a somewhat tongue-in-cheek cover band as well as playing solo gigs two or three times a week. It's fun and it miraculously pays the bills. I also play in a garage/psyche rock band for fun, drive for UberX, and live in my favorite neighborhood.

Moving forward I'm interested in returning to making my own music again, and still looking for what might be my lifelong career. But right now, music and driving are really working.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being intuitive. Playing and listening to music. Singing. Driving. Seeing the big picture. Catching the details. Being compassionate... usually. Doing whatever needs to be done. Having fun when it's available. You know... stuff.

I love Lost in Translation, Leaving Las Vegas, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Matrix, American Beauty, High Fidelity, Office Space, Bernie.

I love The Office and King of the Hill and Full House. I loved Lost while it was on. I like a lot of sketch comedy. Mr Show, Kids in the Hall, SNL, Portlandia. 30 Rock. Trailer Park Boys. Bob's Burgers. Derek. Orange/Black.

Music is obviously a lifestyle for me and I listen to a lot of bands and artists. Some are Radiohead, Tool, Bright Eyes, Queens of the Stone Age, FAILURE, Beck, Gillian Welch, Jenny Lewis/Rilo Kiley, Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, St Vincent, Puscifer, Carina Round, Cage The Elephant, Fiona Apple, Corb Lund.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I like to keep friends, a lover, guitars, some good music, a little cash, and a few beers around.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. Especially how it relates to everything else.

...and women.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Playing a gig in my silly but stylish country and western singer outfit while drinking and making new acquaintances... for money.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I've given up on the ideas that used to mean the most to me. Now I'm just trying to live comfortably and laugh a lot. And I think that's okay.

You want to. Period. I'm open to anyone.

Or if you've read Time Enough For Love and enjoyed it.

Or if you want to talk about or play music.

And especially if you want to watch Full House.
