My self-summary Propose an edit

I am...

... a sucker for pet names and cheesy pickup lines when used correctly. Not everyone can pull it off, but if the right guy calls me "kitten" or "doll" I am pretty much putty in their hands.

... very organized and detail oriented. Some would call this "anal" but I prefer to call it "smart." Everything has its place in my home. I never have to search for anything.

... either quiet or loud. I don't talk unless I have something to say and when I am passionate about something I do tend to get a little excited and loud. I also get loud when I drink, but that's another story.

... oddly attracted to the Verizon Wireless guy. Those commercials might as well be porn to me. I don't even understand it myself.

... also oddly attracted to Seth Rogan. I see he has a hot girlfriend so I'm not the only one, which is good. His laugh drew me in... it was all downhill from there.

... a cancer survivor, although I hate to say it in those terms since I never felt that my life was threatened by it. I instantly feel a kinship with anyone else who has had cancer of any kind and from what I have experienced, that feeling is usually mutual. Its like a club you really don't want to belong to.

... stubborn. Thats not to say that I can't or won't compromise, but I do stick to my guns in most situations.

... competitive. I will kick your butt at Skee-ball. I don't care who you are. I will also tell you that I can kick your butt at air hockey but will later deny the claim when I lose miserably.

... very protective of my friends and family. I am also very unforgiving of people who hurt them.

... a giver and a taker. I think those speak for themselves.

I like...

... guys with (good) tattoos. Mohawks, faux-hawks, piercings, thick black rimmed glasses, and "nerdy" guys also turn my head. Someone whose style catches my eye as soon as he walks into the room.

... singing in my car while I drive, and I don't care who is watching me or laughing at me. I might even throw in a few of those awesome seated dance moves... its all in the hands.

... constantly having some kind of background noise around me, which has lead me to having a pretty diverse collection of music. I even started collecting vinyl a few years ago and have about 200 albums - mostly 80's pop and hair bands.

... randomly complimenting at least one person every day just to get a smile out of them. The more obscure the compliment (I once told a lady that I liked the shape of her eyebrows) the bigger the smile. Try it sometime.

... collecting EVERYTHING. If I have one of something, it is pretty safe to assume that I have two (or in most cases, more than 20). I am still deciding if this is healthy behavoir or if I should seek help. My collections include: keychains, coffee mugs, paperweights, magnets, dolls, antique purses, anything from the '80s and too much other stuff to list.

... small groups over large groups. I would almost always rather have a few friends over to my place than go to a crowded bar. I also prefer to have a small group of really close friends rather than a large group of people I hardly know.

What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit

I have been in and out of retail jobs since high school. Retail and I have a love/hate relationship. As much as I complain about customers and their stupidity, there are a lot of things about my job that I really love.

I'm really good at Propose an edit

Orginization - I am the type of person who believes everything should have a place and be in that place at all times. I have everything in my apartment perfectly organized into little drawers and boxes. I did briefly consider making this my career goal.

The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit

1. My mother and I have a long-running joke about people noticing my hair. There were two very memorable instances when I was out with my mother and people went out of their way to compliment me on my hair. My mother swears one of those times the girl actually pushed her, although I think she is exaggerating a bit.

2. I am either quiet or loud. There is no middle. If I have nothing to say, I am not going to talk just for the sake of speaking. However, if you get me started on something I feel passionate about, I have a tendency to get a bit overly dramatic.

3. I am kind of a sarcastic smartass. This usually is not something I display immediately upon meeting new people, but it becomes very evident with time.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

Books - I admit that I am not much of a reader. As a teenager, I always had this vision of myself being the type to carry a book with me everywhere I go so that if I ever have to sit and wait somewhere (DMV, doctor's office, getting an oil change) I would have something to do. I quickly found that I lack the attention span to remember what was going on in the book long enough to be able to follow the story if there was any kind of gap between reading sessions. I will occassionally hear about a book that sounds interesting and read it - these are mainly works of non-fiction.

Music - Jason Mraz, Ben Folds, Incubus, Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, Matisyahu, OK Go, George Michael, Michael Buble, Rancid, Counting Crows, Nirvana, 311, Something Corporate, Say Anything, Taking Back Sunday, Stroke 9, Plain White T's, The Academy Is..., Anthony Rapp, Badly Drawn Boy, Busted, Cold War Kids, The Fray, The Format, The Get Up Kids, Gym Class Heroes, The Killers, Spoon, Stars, This Providence, Cute Is What We Aim For, Boys Like Girls, Cartel, Good Charlotte, hellogoodbye, Jack's Mannequin, Mae, Maroon 5, Saosin, Cobra Starship, All Time Low, The Almost, Bayside, The Cab, Motion City Soundtrack, OneRepublic, Josiah Leming (you'll love him too, someday), The Used, Justin Timberlake, Pearl Jam, Elvis, 80s pop/rock

Movies - Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Breakfast Club, Being John Malcovich, Beautiful Girls, Memento, Return to Paradise, The Princess Bride, Grease, Lord of the Rings (series), Empire Records, Can't Buy Me Love, Boiler Room, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Stir of Echoes, Dream a Little Dream, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty

Food - I need to find a new sushi buddy. I have no one in my life right now who appreciates good sushi. Pad Thai is a little slice if peanut flavored heaven. I will never pass up a good margarita.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit

My family - They are always there for me for anything I need. Emotional support? Yes. Financial difficulties? You got it. A new monitor for my computer when the old one decides to die for no reason at all? Its nice to have a brother who is a computer nerd and packrat.

My friends - I would go totally crazy without these people in my life. Sometimes you just need someone you can drink some booze with and be stupid around. And sometimes you need someone who will give you a good swift kick in the ass when you need one.

My car - I need transportation way too badly to deal without my car. 90% of the people listed above live way too far away from me to not have a car to be able to get to them (please note the excessive prepositional phrases... thats talent).

Music - I need background noise around me at all times. My brain will not function without it. My computer is ridiculously old and has a tiny little hard drive which is almost completly filled with music.

Clutter - as much as I enjoy a streamlined existance, I don't think I would give up my cluttered home for anything else. There is very little surface or wall space in my apartment that is not covered with something.

Starbucks - okay, maybe I could live without $5 frappucinos, but I'd rather not.

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit

Everything. I can sometimes get a little obsessive about things. I very rarely have nothing on my mind.

On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit

Probably at home or out doing something pretty low-key. I usually work Saturday mornings and go out Saturday nights.

On a Saturday night my friends and I will be at our usual bar in Carrollton. We'll be sitting at our usual table, surrounded by our usual crew. My gay boyfriend will get up and dance all sexy like he does. That one drunk guy will forget who I am again (like he does every week) and hit on me again (like he does every week). There will probably be a fight (like there is almost every week). My friends will sing some karaoke. And we will do shots until they kick us out.

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit

I have a slight Degrassi addiction. Not quite bad enough that I could quote the episodes, but bad enough that if you named an episode, I could give you a very detailed play-by-play of everything that happens. I own the entire collection (the original series only) and I do watch them frequently.
