I am quirky, irreverent, and optimistic.

My Self-Summary

I am a reader and literary adventurer. I love the written word, religious inquiry, and political ideals. All of the above can be and are enhanced by random sexual innuendos. My current missions include finishing my degrees, fighting the Religious Right as often as I can, and surrounding myself with brilliant people. And books; always books. When I'm not learning something or laughing at the way things are, I'm probably working or at class.

Advice: If you encounter severe right-wingers in a dark alley (or in a well lit place), run screaming and warn all the children.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

books - anything Tom Robbins, Margaret Atwood, TC Boyle, Dorothy Allison, Jeanette Winterson, KATE CHRISTENSEN is who I'm trippin on lately.

movies - I love documentaries and dark comedies, and dark comedic documentaries. Cerebral stuff.

music - I'm a folkie at heart. I love the Indigo Girls, Ani Difranco, Dar Williams, Lucinda Williams, Shawn Mullins, Amy MacDonald, and Regina Spektor, but sometimes I need some Pink or AC/DC or classical or hip-hop or techno or country or whatever else. A life without music is dead.

food - Thai is awesome.

The six things I could never do without

1) Books
2) Nature's quiet (yet loud) irrepressible beauty and strength
3) Laughter
4) Brilliance - yours, mine, that of radical thinkers and children
5) Time alone
6) Music

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Different religions, life, politics, being the best person I can, WORDS.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

nope, nothing.
