My self-summary
PhD student in human geography in Boston, but not of Boston.
What I’m doing with my life
Phd, music.... What's that Marx quote about choosing ones path in life and the constraints that are made upon those choices. Yeah, that one, here:

Update, thanks to ZippyZippy... Zippy (?) I can now post the entire quote, which is as follows:

“Men make their own history, but they do not make it just as they please; they do not make it under circumstances chosen by themselves, but under circumstances directly encountered, given and transmitted from the past. The tradition of all the dead generations weighs like a nightmare on the brain of the living.”
I’m really good at
Nibbling and cribbling, playing music, laughing, listenting, empathizing, making jokes, having a good time, driving long distance, advocating for the devil, cooking, and schoooooool
The first things people usually notice about me
I have no idea. My inability to notice what they notice first?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors: PK Dick, Vonnegut, M. Foucault, D. Eggers, C. Klosterman, Marx, T. Robbins, K. Calavita, PJ Farmer, Rumi, Hafiz, Zinn, etc. TV: Space Ghost, Father Ted, Galactica. Movies: Adam Curtis docs., Last Night, Woody Allen, ne touche pas aux grisbi, Khadak, Taste of Tea. Food: food.
The six things I could never do without
Air, water, food, friends, fire, music, a guitar, conversation, laughter, irreverence, sarcasm, confusing people, hope, failure, dogs (I don't live with one, they're just fucking hilarious), and desire.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how things relate. I also really think a lot about people. I don't really enjoy people who aren't critical of our society and privilege. I also don't like materialists, or people that identify with others through commodities (ok, I know it's often necessary). Fashionable trends and the co-optation of all manner of traditions, beliefs, and practices also makes me cringe.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for someone to go out have a few beers with, tell some yarns to, laugh about weird connections with, and listen to stories from.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
This is a stupid question, and I'm pretty sure everybody knows it... though that isn't very private is it?
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–37
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
you're a cynical optimist.
