I am splendiferous, truthiness-y, and strategery.

My Self-Summary

I moved here very recently (within the past few months) from California to Texas. Being new in town, I'm currently in that mode where people become friendlier and even more open than they normally are as they're actively trying to meet new people and build some semblance of a social network. Not that I'm usually not open to meeting new people--because I really am--but I figure that this especially super-outgoing mode that I'm in will only last for a short while longer. So if you act now, I'll probably make an extra-special effort when we communicate. This will translate to speedier responses, a few more sentences in each note, and 30% more smilies in each email. Anyways, enough on the limited-term marketing spiel--more about me.

I'm a computer consultant and travel often so I'm frequently in another city. Aside from work, I spend most of my time traveling, reading books, watching movies, and playing sports. I also spend a lot of time working out and running. I guess you could call me a computer-nerd/bookworm/gym-rat/film- geek. If this sounds like even a remotely interesting combination to you, you should drop me a note.

I’m really good at

Writing geeky online profile statements. I'm also excellent at writing characterizations of absurdly over-the-top narcissistic personalities.

The first things people usually notice about me

First, they notice how incredible I am. Usually, they're too intimidated to say anything. Then they notice how humble I am despite my obvious superiority and that I speak to them as equals. This impresses them even more.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

(A) My diary. Paraphrasing Oscar Wilde, one should always have something sensational to read. Seriously though--does Wikipedia count? I spend hours geeking out on various topics online. I'm curious like that. Also, I really like reading "The Economist" as I enjoy reading about politics and current events. Oh, one of my current favorite authors is Neil Gaiman.

(B) Cashback, Pan's Labyrinth, Babel, Shawshank Redemption, Gattaca, Braveheart, Forrest Gump, Matrix, Garden State, My Life as a Dog, Dark City, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Inconvenient Truth, Stardust. As for TV, I'm a big fan of the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert on The Colbert Report.

(C) U2, The Cure, Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, Damien Rice, Five for Fighting, Live, Peter Gabriel, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Petty, Sarah McLachlan, Jason Mraz, Heather Nova, The Fray

(D) Korean, Sushi

The six things I could never do without

food, water, air, friends, vital organs, dreams

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How great it would be if some cool chick sent me a message on this site. Yes, this means you...

On a typical Friday night I am

"Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes, all day."

I spend most Friday nights looking at myself in the mirror. Sometimes I flex or strike a pose.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

How truly difficult it is for me to be innately superior to everyone else in the world. Its a curse, really. Sometimes I find myself wishing that I was ordinary and not be burdened with such greatness--but then I think, no.

You should message me if

Anything on my profile piques your interest.

I'm new in town and it'd be pretty cool to just meet new people with similar interests (or even dissimilar ones). I'd welcome a chance to meet up with anyone fun--I hang out with way too many engineers and programmers from work. You can only talk about computers for so long, right? Drop me a note and I'll respond within a couple of days.

I'm always looking for a good running/workout partner. On the more cerebral side, I also like exploring museums, going to various theatre productions, and independent films. Other than that, I'm pretty open to to trying new things.
