My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a southern gal who finds herself on the West Coast, away from everything she ever really knew. But it's been an adventure so far, and let's be honest, I was never very good at acting Southern.

I'm a little bit of everything: a nerd, a political activist, sometimes fitness enthusiast. I love telling stories, and sometimes I write them. But that's less often these days. I enjoy going to new cities and new places, but my favorite place to visit is always Seattle.

I'm in Berkeley to get my Master's at the moment. Who knows where I could go next?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Step one: Get master's degree. Step two: Pretend I totally have this 'life' thing under control. Step three: ??? Step four: Profit!

And in the mean time, I'll put finishing the ASOIAF series at the top of my list.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really, really good at keeping calm under a lot of stress. Somehow, I always seem to be really put together even though I'm internally freaking out.

I'm also a really, really loud introvert, apparently.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm loud.

No, seriously. That's always the first comment. Always! And then after that, people notice that I am easily confused. It's a curse.

Oh, and they may also notice that I'm passionate about things I believe in, but that takes actual talking to me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Catch 22, bar none. Also, for non-fiction, I love 'I Rose Like a Rocket.' I'm a huge fan of Teddy Roosevelt. Yes, me, the Southern Gal.
Movies: I have a lot I really like, but no standout favorite. If you can't deal with someone who loves Disney movies, it's a dealbreaker. I'm sorry.
Shows: Orange is the New Black, Game of Thrones, Parks and Rec, and I'll throw Legend of Korra in there too to show you I'm serious about the Disney movies thing.
Food: Give me Japanese food and I'll be happy.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) My cats! They're the best fuzzy little assholes in the world.
2) My phone. I would've been slightly more ashamed of this a few years ago, but it's come to my attention that there are people way more addicted to their smartphones than I am. This includes an outlet and a charger, I assume?
3) Clothes, obviously. What else would I wear every day?
4) Amy Poehler's on point sense of humor.

I'll come up with two later, I'm sure.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Homelessness and our veterans, feminism, voting rights, racism, politics, how badly do I want that burger, no, wait I should cook for myself... but I'm really feeling lazy. I know, I'll get that burger and run four miles later to feel better about myself. Wait, wait THIS BUZZFEED LIST OF THINGS SPEAKS TO ME ON A PERSONAL LEVEL.

You know, the usual stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
One Friday night, I'll find myself partying out in San Fran, the next I will be plotting a trip to Napa on Saturday.

Some days I drive down to Sac because WHY THE HELL NOT. Other Fridays, I'll be longing for a hiking trail and someone to hike it with.

Other nights, if you take my Dragon Age away, we'll fight. I'm a kind of 'rolls with it' gal. Fickle as hell, never good on the dance floor but likes to pretend she has the moves... you know the sort.

I'm discovering this is surprisingly important. So, 1) If you know who Anita Sarkeesian is, your first reaction to her isn't 'god what a bitch.' And 2) If you don't sincerely think #GamerGate is about ethics in video game journalism.

Video games aren't even that big a part of my life anymore, but I can already tell you we won't get along, and it might be best to just save ourselves the trouble. Otherwise, try me!
