So after taking a year off I've decided to jump back into dating. It would be great to find someone to go on adventures with. Locally I'm all about things that involve tickets (comedy, theater, music, burlesque, roller derby, whatever), trying out new (or old) places to eat, and all the other typical things there are to do out here.
A little about me: I work a shift schedule (4 on, 4 off) so sometimes my weekends are occupied with that noise. I have a lazy, giant dog that has mind control powers (go ahead, you try saying no to him). I try to travel at least once a year, some years are more successful than others. I like taking hobby-ish classes and going to Smithsonian lectures, although my new work schedule makes that a pain. And apparently I'm pretty fond of parentheses.
Also, I can't see likes. Sorry, but it's not doing you any good. E-mails are a much better option.
What I’m doing with my life
Trying to live it now that all the overtime at work has finally calmed down. Oh, also trying to put together a good playlist for running. It turns out I'm no good. Suggestions are welcome!
I’m really good at
Finding fun things to do in the area.
The first things people usually notice about me
The bald dome? Just a guess, I have no idea.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Historical fiction, biographies, classics, Lovecraft, HST, and the occasional mind candy like Christopher Moore. I've recently gotten into Neil Gaiman.
Movies: Comedies, the Indiana Jones trilogy, anything Tolkien related, Guillermo del Toro movies, Marvel movies, etc.
Shows: The Guild, Top Gear, anything with Anthony Bourdain, Robot Chicken, Archer, Supernatural, Elementary, The Strain, etc. I'm really looking forward to Lucifer (it's ok), and Ash vs. Evil Dead is amazing.
Food: Ethnic food, Burgers
Music: Industrial, Classical, The Rat Pack, The Dan Band, Irish drinking Songs, Florence and the Machine, Primus, and a ton of other artists. Just picked up some Violent Femmes, Sisters of Mercy, and Concrete Blonde like I'm still in high school.
*No list is all inclusive, and I'm pretty open minded when it comes to just about everything.
The six things I could never do without
My dog, good drinks, good food, friends, books, the Google.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Oh who the hell knows? I sure don't.
On a typical Friday night I am
Honestly, probably not much unless my friends are around. I rarely go out to bars at night these days.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll admit to anything!
You should message me if
You love learning, or can teach me something cool. You have any sort of geek cred. You're a little goofy and are up for humoring the goofy things I do. You have a dark, twisted sense of humor, and don't take yourself too seriously. Or if you're just a decent person that likes to have fun.
