I am humorous, strong, and nerdy.

My Self-Summary

A few of the things that define my life are my religious beliefs, my sense of humor, my love of all things nerdy, and the lifting of heavy objects.

I enjoy making people laugh, I enjoy laughing myself, and laughing at myself. I spend a lot of time playing games and messing around on the Internet when I'm not working. I tend to be an open book, affectionate, and enjoy romance. I also enjoy killing a whole boatload of virtual Nazis, so I've got a good dichotomy going.

I constantly struggle to improve myself; mentally, physically and spiritually.

I just recently moved up here from California, but I've travelled pretty extensively throughout my life, and I've seen a lot of the world. Sadly nothing outside of the western hemisphere, but one day I hope to.

However, I would be remiss if I let the worldly travel and sociable attitude fool you: I'm still a huge nerd. I'm a software developer and greatly enjoy my work. If I wasn't getting paid to do it, I'd be doing it on my own as a hobby.

I don't consider myself a klutz, but I have managed to injure myself during extremely mundane activities. Who could imagine that pants could be so dangerous?

I sometimes procastinate, and put things off till later - like finishing this summary.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm current in web development, and but I'd like to focus more on client development, because I feel that you can more strongly execute many of the design patterns that are so interesting and make for stronger, more robust -- listen, you asked.

On the R&R side, getting more into tabletop roleplaying and board games.

I’m really good at

All things computers, lifting heavy objects, and making people laugh. Yes, it's a theme.

I'm also really good at counseling friends - and I consider myself pretty good at Krav Maga, for a beginner. More of the above mentioned dichotomy there, I suppose.

The first things people usually notice about me

I wont lie: Most likely my size. I'm a big guy. I'm not much of a romantic when it comes to that kind of question. I fear I may intimidate people at first - something that's not incredibly easy to verify, but I notice it in the way people respond to me sometimes. But once they talk to me, they probably notice that I'm funny and pretty easy going.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite music is metal, rock and classical. (Or all 3 combined if you count Apocalyptica)
Favorite food is sushi, though it's pricey enough that I don't eat it very often. Close second is steak.

As for books, I haven't read a ton of fiction lately, though I enjoy it. My all time fiction classics are probably Batman: Year One and The Dark Knight Returns, both by Miller, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, and Jurassic Park by Chrichton. Right now, I'm currently trying to get through Democracy in America by De Tocqueville, for a decidedly non-fiction bent. Amazing book with crazy insight on every page - yet decidedly hard to get through.

The six things I could never do without

Jesus
Freedom
My mind (Alzheimers is the worst form of hell I could imagine)
Sense of humor
Computer (and the various video games on it)
Friends/Family

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Politics, Religion, Fantasy, Gaming, Work - not necessarily in that order. I'm a software developer by trade, and I enjoy my work, so I spend a lot of time contemplating things programming-related. Beyond that, I'm big into video games.

On a typical Friday night I am

If not working, then playing games or hanging out with friends. I've started getting into more board games now than I have in the past - but I'm a nerd that enjoys typical nerdy things. I enjoy going out, but rarely to bars/clubs as I don't find them particular enjoyable venues. Too loud to have a real conversation, the food is generally boring, the music is rarely my taste, and I don't drink. But movies, restaurants, parties, all good things.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm willing to admit anything that's both true and something you could find out on the first date.

You should message me if

If you enjoy talking about things both deep and nerdy and are looking for a partnership on the world's greatest adventure.
