My self-summary
When asked to describe me in three words, my friends responded with the following:
outgoing, erudite, worldly
brainy, introspective, inadvertent
charming, ebullient, adorable
thoughtful, outgoing, and dead-sexy
introspective, open, brave
wickedly intelligent, mindful, maker-of-sweet-juices
Goodatdecorating, greatatmakingfajitas, evenbetteratmakingmargaritas

I used to consider myself more of a thinker than a doer, but as I've gotten older, I've worked to change that. I love dancing, driving, running, hiking and trying new things. (Recent shenanigans include performing improv in front of 700 people, something I had no business doing, and making a goal of completing 6 half marathons in 2016.) I do still think an awful lot though.

I love the outdoors and natural beauty—wherever it can be found, be it in waterfall fog tumbling over the hills of the California coast or one of my middle school students showing genuine kindness to another. (I now teach college students--they're much less adorable, but definitely have their own perks. I am humbled every semester when I read their "turning-point" essays and realize what they have overcome to make it where they are.)

I'm an ENTP with F tendencies.

The plan is to go to yoga before going out with friends (or out with you!) but truth be told, I'm not great at sticking to plans...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I can’t spell to save my life (something that comes up often on my student evaluations), I get really bored with cooking and, despite teaching reading, I’d rather you summarized a book for me, or gifted it to me on iTunes, or—ideally—read it to me (but I’d be really happy to talk with you about the ideas in it at length).
You should message me if

you have a great TED talk you think I'd like. :-)
you agree that ghosting people is ridiculous and believe in direct communication

Note: I've found match percentages to be really useful. If we are under a 90% match, you're working at a bit of a disadvantage. If we are under an 80% match, your message will most likely be filtered. Sorry! (It's a cold, hard world.)
