It took me a while to hit my stride in SF - after some months of settling in my apartment and launching the startup, I'm proud to announce my bedroom finally has curtains, and I finally feel like I'm taking in what this town has to offer. I'm beginning to discover the joy of exercising outdoors, and ran my first 5k at Golden Gate Park. My mixologist friends have taught me that alcohol can be more than just the occasional mojito. I've finally let myself go to enough art shows (conveniently, by my office on Sutter) that I'm beginning to get back into making my own art. Granted, my art tends to involve more bits and blinking lights. Etcetera.
I still work very hard at my job, as most folks in startups do - but I don't use it as an excuse to not live my life at the same time. Life's too short and the world is too beautiful for that. I really believe that work-life balance comes from within.
Now that I've got my world a little more figured out, I'm trying to expand that world to include others. I've been lucky enough to have great roommates and incredible coworkers since day one. However, I also want to meet new people - this sounds cliche, but I've met a lot of my closest friends through dating. If there's chemistry, all the better. In the meantime, let's go run this town.
That said, my roommates are well acquainted with the local bar scene, so I've been trying to get better about just going out and meeting random new people en masse.
I've also really gotten into running, and once the weather gets better I'd like to run a bit around town on nice evenings. In the meantime, I've made a bit of a game out of how often I can sneak my friends into my gym. :)

You're up for showing someone new around (and can put up with me calling the city "San Francisco" instead of "The City" for a little while).
You enjoy communicating openly and often. You understand (or at least tolerate) my fascination with Katy Perry. You enjoy trying new things. You're good folk.
