My self-summary
Hm. Username is a big part of first impression, and I think I sort of picked a boring username when I got started here. Something like mr_glitch or mathemagician would be better. Even Dkrk8Lt90JVSw would be a slight improvement.

Anyway, let's see. I'm a math geek at core, but I get my salary from computer programming. I've been in Pittsburgh a few years now. One time, I actually understood directions to "turn where the gas station used to be".

I spend a good deal of my free time swing dancing! Pittsburgh has a fun and friendly scene. (Single ladies: If you already dance or want to learn, that's awesome, but if not, that's cool too.)

I can slip silently into the background without even trying. Sort of a bad habit, actually. But when I'm comfortable and among friends, I can let my sillier side out for a while.

My motto: Never treat anything too seriously.

I guess OKC abandoned the separate boxes for different languages? Here's what I had here for German before:

Warum soll ich auf Deutsch schreiben? Jede, die dieses liest, spricht englisch, oder? Aber warum nicht?

Ich habe als zwölf-ältiger Junge ein paar Monate in Hamburg gewohnt. Das war ganz toll. Ich habe dann Deutsch in der Schule und an der Uni gelernt. Ich habe die Harry Potter Bücher auf Deutsch, nur um die Sprache nicht zu vergessen. Und weil es interessanter ist als die normale Bücher zu haben.

I am goofy, intellectual, and caring.
What I’m doing with my life
I already mentioned the programming job. I didn't originally expect it would be a permanent thing, but it's comfortable for now. And at this point, Pittsburgh would be really hard to leave.
I’m really good at
Understanding people with whom I disagree. Sometimes I'm even bold enough to help people understand each other and ease conflicts.

Piano, though it's just something I do for fun. I have a backpack full of books with classical, jazzy, and Christian music, plus combinations of the above.

Math, but I already said that.

Languages. I'm pretty darn good in German and can follow a bit of Koine (biblical-era) Greek and a smidgeon of Hebrew.
The first things people usually notice about me
Notice? They don't, if I'm on a ninja mission.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Tolkien, Pratchett, other fantasy books, maybe a bit of Moltmann for occasional theology. Also, The Shack is pretty awesome and powerful.

Movies: All Pixar movies. Napoleon Dynamite, Forrest Gump, Star Wars series (even the newer prequels), Princess Bride, Truman Show.

Television: Nope. The ads these days are too much of an assault on the brain. Well, okay. I did get a brief Hulu subscription just to watch Firefly, and did not regret it.

Music: Swing music, pop classics, jazz, the "Oldies", and a few other things from before I was born.

Food: Yes.
The six things I could never do without
Family, Internet, a small circle of good friends, the ability to count.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Right now a lot of my religion and philosophy views are in flux. But more often, some programming project or something.
On a typical Friday night I am
playing a computer game. The not-so-typical Friday nights are even more fun.
