My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I enjoy fencing, hardware engineering and SCUBA. I've been known to sail from time to time, and although all my surfing experiences end in embarrassment, it's still fun. Once upon a time I played the cello, but these days it mostly just sits in the corner. I like driving deserted mountain roads in a spirited fashion and looking at things that are far away. I drive an old car (not vintage, just old) that always needs work, which gives me a good outlet for tinkering.

I am 61% slut, ENFJ, and not a serial killer
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm working in Palo Alto, after studying chemistry and computer engineering at UC Santa Cruz. I mostly just SCUBA dive.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
staying busy. It's pretty easy to talk me into doing something, and almost everything sounds like fun. Unfortunately, I'm better at staying busy than I am at effective time management, but I seem to have a good time anyway.

I grew up in Perth, Australia and still have a slight accent, but it's pretty faded.

According to iTunes: Offspring, VNV Nation, Pixies, Frenzal Rhomb, Millencolin, Bloodhound Gang, Prodigy, Freezepop, Crematory, Apoptygma Berzerk, Green Day, Mozart, Clash, Breeders, Switchblade Symphony, VAST, Damned, Front 242, Simon and Garfunkel, Weezer, Tatu, David Bowie, Jebediah, Depeche Mode.

I don't watch too many movies, which isn't to say that I don't enjoy them. I'm not a huge fan of the teenage-rite-of-passage type movies or the dumb-funny stuff, but the rest I'm fairly happy watching. Looking over to my bookshelf I see Bandits, Dirty Deeds, Empire Records, M*A*S*H and Sleepy Hollow.

I read a little bit, primarily stuff from the 19th century. Dostoevsky's "Devils" and Hawthorne's "The Marble Faun" I suppose would be my favorites. I'm also really into memoirs and travel logs: I just finished reading Farley Mowat's "Siberians". Steinbeck's "The Log From the Sea of Cortez" and "Travels with Charley" come to mind, as do some articles by Heinlein and Dijkstra.

Food? I grew up without any decent Mexican food, so I'm making up for that now.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Something to read, someone to talk to and something to fiddle with. I guess a beach, a beer and a chile relleno would be cool too.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
why I'm the only person on this site without a Zombie-invasion contingency plan. I live on the second story of my apartment and I've got a window by my desk. Is that enough? I hear I need some sort of beheading tool? I've got a coathanger...

Update: bought a 40 year-old oscilloscope. If that can't crush a zombie, I don't know what can.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Ordering books I can't afford from Or at least that's what I'm doing tonight. On the other hand, my grandfather used to say: "Icecream is dairy: you can have as much of it as you want". I sort of feel the same way about books I guess.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I spent ten years in college.

I'm really into people who are assertive. Despite what the rest of my profile might have led you to believe, I'm actually fairly shy when making first contact. It's likely that I'd love to talk to you, but lack the cojones to start up a conversation. They return quickly once I get to know you, I swear!
