My self-summary
Saluton! I'm studying Linguistics at uni and I have no idea what I'll do after that. I'm polyamorous and generally think autonomy is very important in relationships and life in general.

I'm fairly outgoing but I prefer a smaller amount of closer friends than having loads. That's all I'm going to say about my personality because shit's hard to define. As you can see from my sidebar, I'm very into language learning, too.

I really enjoy travelling. I've been to Japan twice (much easier when you speak the language!) and I really want to go to Iceland and South America. Using Esperanto I've managed to travel quite a bit for cheap/free, and it introduced me to the wonders of Slovakia (great nature, super cheap booze).

I sometimes make vlogs on YouTube and you can find my channel here: (shameless self-plug, I know).

The last three years I've done NaNoWriMo (where you have to write a 50000-word novel draft in one month) and this will be the first year I'm not doing it!

I'm vegetarian for environmental and ethical reasons, but I will eat food that would otherwise go to waste and free food being given out at events and such for the former reason.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently studying Linguistics at Cambridge. I originally did Chinese at a different university but after a year I realised I was only really interested in the modern language aspect, so I dropped out and reapplied for Linguistics which I care way more about.
I’m really good at
Languages. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I have a knack for them and love to learn new ones. At the moment I'm taking sign language classes which are a blast.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my lazy eye but they're too polite to say it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I want to be one of those people who reads loads, but I find it hard to make time for it. I think a recent favourite would be Sekretaj Sonetoj, which is an amazingly well-written erotic story in sonnet-form in Esperanto.

I'm into fun comedy films like Mean Girls and Pitch Perfect, but I also really like psychological thrillers. The Lion King used to be my favourite Disney, though now I think it's The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

I don't watch a huge amount of TV, but I do love things like Ab Fab, Black Books, Green Wing, etc. Also currently in the slow process of watching Battlestar Galactica, and Bake Off has become a wonderful yearly treat.

I'm one of those weird people who doesn't listen to that much music. I like some kpop and other guilty pleasure-ish stuff, as well as some metal (Ego Fall!) and other things. I honestly listen to very little music that's in English because foreign languages sound cooler.
The six things I could never do without
Languages/Linguistics, sustenance, the Internet, singing, chocolate, cute animals.

Yes, languages come before sustenance. Depriving me of the internet for a few days can make me very edgy.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How I want to create an artificial island with a commune of Esperanto-speakers on it.

I also think about smashing the patriarchy and changing the monosexual heteronormative paradigm in society. The gender binary is limiting and frustrating.

Recently I've also been thinking a fair bit about my sexuality. Whereas before I thought as myself as gay now I think I'm homoflexible leaning towards bi, but I haven't been with any self-identifying women before.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, at a society pub meet, or on Tumblr.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have written erotica before (and will probably write erotica again).

Also, I'm usually attracted to guys older than me (especially hairy ones).
I’m looking for
  • Guys who like guys
  • Ages 20–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, short-term dating
You should message me if
You read until this far.

Or if you like Amanda Palmer a lot, because then I'm pretty much guaranteed to like you even if we have nothing else in common.

Please don't message me if you are a prescriptivist (seriously), or if you don't like German, or if you don't care about equal rights for women/LGBTQ etc.
