Ugh. I came back to a profile I wrote ages ago and realised how wanky it all sounds. So I'll try this again.

I'm a complete language geek. I love linguistics and learning languages. I spend probably too much time on the internet, usually on Youtube or Tumblr. My interests also include reading, writing, Vocaloid, anime, manga, theatre and lions.

I have a habit of setting myself crazy challenges, like last year I did NaNoWriMo (where you have to write a 50000-word novel draft in one month) and this year I'm trying (and failing) to do the Fifty Books Challenge (it's pretty self-explanatory, I think). Also, I want to become a Pokémon master and the King of Games, but I've neglected both of those for quite a while...

I'm a fairly shy person, until you get to know me, then I get quite loud. But I think a lot of people say this about themselves so I don't know.

"I'm ambitious and passionate" < I had previously written that on here and now I realise how horribly pretentious it sounds. But I suppose it is kind of true. My goal is to become an interpreter, but if that doesn't work out, I'll have to do something that involves languages. I love travelling and want to live in or at least visit lots of places - Japan, Germany, Iceland, America. Basically, I don't want to stay in the UK.

I'm a fairly solitary person. That doesn't mean I'm a hermit, I just need my alone time and would much rather have a night in than a night out.

I don't believe love or a relationship should "complete" you. If you are unhappy or incomplete when not in a relationship, then a relationship isn't going to solve that.

I don't visit this site very often so I'll probably take a while replying to messages.

Currently studying Chinese at Oxford, though planning on switching to German and Linguistics.

Languages. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I have a knack for them and love to learn new ones. I study French, German and Japanese and self-teach Esperanto.

I really love Philip Reeve's Mortal Engines quartet. I recently read Will Grayson, Will Grayson and absolutely adored it, so I think I'm going to have to read more of John Green. And, of course, I'm a HP fan.

My favourite movie is The Lion King and I also really like trippy shit like Donnie Darko and psychological thrillers like Hitchcock's work. Mean Girls is also a hilarious and very quotable film.

My music taste is quite eclectic, varying from Japanese pop to Brechtian Punk Cabaret, but at the moment I'm really into Vocaloid music (it's a type of vocal synthesiser).

Yes, languages come before sustenance. Depriving me of the internet for a few days can make me very edgy.

Languages (sometimes I conlang internally, translate things in my head, think about grammar). I also look at guys and ask myself whether I'd have sex with them. I also think about the future a lot.

On the internet. I don't really go out much.

I have written erotica before (and will probably write erotica again).

Also, I'm usually attracted to guys older than me (especially hairy ones).
