My self-summary
Hmmm, where to start? First and foremost, I'm a bit of a geek. Actually I'm a geek of epic proportions. My interests (some might say obsessions) range from how to survive the zombie apocalypse to the philosophy writings of Bertrand Russell. I also dig the stereotypical geeky things. I'd love to find a gaming group so I can try out the 4e rules for D&D. I can hold my own at scrabble and trivial pursuit (anybody still play that game?)

I love tattoos. I have eight so far, but more are in the works. There's just something about the smell of that green hospital soap and the bite of the needle that just gives me goosebumps.

I think it's only fair to warn you that I'm a single dad. My daughter is the light of my life. Relax, I'm not looking for a new mommy for her. I just thought that I'd get that out in the open from the get-go.

I am Geeky, Eclectic, and Slightly Profane

What I’m doing with my life
Right now I'm deployed to Afghanistan for a few months with the National Guard. When I get home I plan on spoiling my kid rotten and giving college another go. Hopefully I can meet someone to correspond with who can keep up their end of a conversation. Sometimes it's nice to talk about something other than the army or "this one hot chick back home I hooked up with."

I’m really good at
Reading. It's a pretty rare thing for me to come across a book that I don't like. I try to read one or two nonfiction books (or classical literature, poetry etc.) for every piece of fiction. Sometimes though, I just have to go on a binge and devour a series of books.

I'm a pretty good listener. I seem to be the guy that my friends turn to when they need to vent. I don't think that I'd be bragging to say that I'm a damn good friend. I don't have many, but it's like the mob. Once you're in, you're in for life.

I'm also a pretty decent cook. I make a tortilla soup that'll make you slap your momma. My chicken stir-fry kicks ass too.

The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know about physically, I guess my eyes or my bright red mustache when I decide to grow it out. I've been told that I look like officer creepy when I let it get all thick and bushy.

I've been told that at first I can come off as a bit abrasive sometimes until you get to know me. I think of myself as being self-assured in some areas and I guess that translates as arrogance to people who don't get me.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
pretty much everything. I'm often mulling over something that I just read.

On a typical Friday night I am
hard at work. Oh how I long for the good old days when I could enjoy my weekends. Unfortunately I have several months before I can truly relax and savor some me time.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
As a boy my parents would lock me outside so I'd go play and not read all day. My response? Always have an emergency book handy. What can I say? I like to read ok?
