In a previous life I was a software engineer, but realized it was something I could do, but not something I loved. So I went to grad school, found my calling as an information professional, and earned an MLIS degree. After some fun as a PM at Microsoft Research (doing all sorts of things including research on Richard Feynman, Big History, scientific publication tools, and web stuff), I ended up at ProQuest doing data analysis and software stuff to help academic research librarians better do what they do.
Although my friends may not agree -- I'm definitely an introvert. I can put on a good act when I'm around people, but I always need to recharge on my own. I guess that's why I've never felt the need to always be in a relationship and consequently I haven't spent much time dating or in relationships.
The only interest I have in politics is the comedic fodder it provides for The Daily Show and Colbert Report.
I am risk-averse, thoughtful, and sensitive.
