My self-summary
Hi, my name is Luca, and I'd like to meet you, yes, awesome you, that is out there! How cheesy did that sound? Seriously, how does one even begin one of these things?

Fair warning, I'm an architect, so, stopping mid sentence while walking on the street, to look at a random corner detail of an interesting building, may occur. I also have an interest in how things are made, therefore, furniture shopping with me means a lot of looking under tables and flipping over chairs.

I own my own firm, which is definitely rewarding (and a headache at the same time). I love the independence it offers me, as well as the ability to take off work, to travel this amazingly interesting and diverse planet of ours, with all of its amazing cultures. Thankfully I've gotten to a point in my career where I can now turn down clients that don't necessarily share my point of view on design, conservation, or are just plain grouchy and annoying so I am getting more satisfaction out of my work than ever before.

I'm close to my family, and I include my friends in that, because lets face it, if you've been friends with somebody for over a certain amount of time, they are family.

I am a glass is half full kinda guy, and I always try to be positive in all aspects of my life.

I love the color orange (yet, other than the oranges currently in my fruit bowl, there isn't really that much orange around my house, go figure), hate tomatoes...seriously...with a passion, love to make things with my hands from drawings to sculpture, dislike negative people, love working on my house, hate the fact that ever since I finished college I've somehow become a morning person (not that I got sleep in college), love the outdoors and everything to do with outside activities. Love golf even though I secretly think its a sport for old people and I'm an embarrassing site on the green. The list goes on...

Now that I'm through with the extremely egotistical part of the description box, I'm easy to talk to so if you want to get to know me better let me know, and maybe we'll grab a cup of coffee and a few laughs.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it. I have achieved many of my goals professionally so I'm focusing on different aspects of my life. For example I took up a challenge to read 52 (non architecture) books in 52 weeks. Feel free to recommend something.
I’m really good at
Finding awesome places to stay while traveling. Oh and ummm....architecture.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know, I'm not the people noticing.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books most recently: Foucault's Pendulum, Love in the time of Cholera, The Pillars of the Earth, Veronika Decides to Die. I'll read just about anything so feel free to recommend something.

Movies: Vanilla Sky, anything James Bond, Great Expectations, Heat, The Descendants, The Pianist, Sent of a Woman, Snatch, Layer Cake. In general anything with a plot, although I have been known to sneak in a few "no plot all special effects" here and there. Usually something that makes me laugh.

Food: I like ALL food (except raw tomatoes) I guess you have to when you travel, since you don't really get the full foreign experience at a McDonald's.

Music: I know its cliche to say but pretty much anything except death metal. I just don't get the screaming. Also not a huge fan of country.
The six things I could never do without
Oh, the six things question, well I could never do without, well....air...water...food..., just kidding, lets see

1)my awesome friends and of course my family
2)a pencil, pen, marker, brush etc (I really like to sketch),
3)a sketchpad ( gotta have something to doodle on with the aforementioned instruments)
4) Music
5) my passport, since you cant really go around the world without one, they won't let you even if you try.
6)A watch ( gotta be on time to the airport to catch a flight)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
In no particular order:

Life in general.

The world, we're seriously f***ing it up people. How do we stop that.

How delicious espresso is. Every morning. Sometimes in the evening too, depending on how many hours I need to squeeze out of a particular day.

What my next deadline is.

How the person that figured out how to make caramel was a genius.

The never ending list of things I need to finish/buy/make/install for my house.

If I remembered to put the laundry in the dryer this morning.

How I can take time away from my computer to go outside.

How the deer that frequent my property decided to eat all the flowers I planted....GRRRRRR...
On a typical Friday night I am
probably out with friends or if I'm too tired probably at home reading.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That's for a face to face conversation, a few glasses of wine and a few months of knowing each other.
