Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Disclaimer: I am now married. My profile is up for the viewing of
my single girlfriends. Best of luck to you. Keep looking!
Vivacious farmer lady (yep, really a farmer) seeks friends for
evening and/or weekend entertainment. Bonus points if you're
hilarious, brilliant, and well intentioned.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Lucky enough to be pursuing a lifestyle that is an expression of my
world view. Fortunately I don't have a j.o.b.--my work and my
values click--and I can tell you it's one of the purest forms of
satisfaction I know.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
The first things people usually notice about me

Blunt wit. Wholehearted laugh. Tendency to stare or hold eye
contact for periods of time that make most people uncomfortable.

Annie Dillard's Pilgrim at Tinker Creek is my version of
the Bible. It's a bit like me--a tough read at times, but utterly
rewarding and insightful if you stick with it.
I don't watch TV--really, I don't--which makes it difficult to
communicate with people about Jersey Shore, etc. Instead I try to
be particularly discerning about what I put into my brain, and how
I spend my time alive.
I'll watch a movie every now and then--on this, I'm flexible.
My taste in music is pretty eclectic, from top 40 radio to
obscure-ish hipster indie bands. I'm an absolute sucker for classic
As for food, I'm quite familiar with the intricacies of how to
grow, kill (if necessary), and cook dinner. To be truthful I am a
food Nazi, and will likely make fun of what you ate for breakfast.
So long as you'd be interested in occasionally eating the best food
money can buy with me, I think we'll get along.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Meat--most preferably raised honestly, and of this kind--a lot. A
connection to the landscape. A sense of humor. Goals. Feeling
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
To be truthful I'm quite serious--though I have a genuine affection
for laughter and release. In short, I spend a lot of time thinking
about serious stuff.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
trying to have a life--though not always easy--on account of the
rooster's crow at dawn. I'm in Savannah on Saturday and Sunday,
sometimes during the week as well, for work and play.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have one chicken out of 900 that I'm absolutely crazy about. Her
name is Cleo, and if you ask me she hung the moon.
In my head I'm part Beyonce, part Lauryn Hill.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're happy. You're self-motivated. You're comfortable leading and
being led. You're not intimidated by a strong woman with a busy
public life. You're patient and willing to stick out "the friend
zone," as I am ever calculating and deliberate. You know how to
honor the English language with proper syntax and spelling--this is
a deal breaker. You're looking for someone you can learn from,
someone who will sharpen you and in return expect to be sharpened
by you. You're comfortable and relaxed, but you know when it's time
to be a big boy and iron your shirt. You'd like to occasionally
provide me with the opportunity to put on a pair of heels and
maybe--gasp!--dance. You believe in magic more than government--or
would like to. You want to be like Atticus Finch when you grow up.
You want a show-stopper Wonder Woman. You strut 'cause you can back
