Hello everybody. I'm a US Army special forces war veteran (Iraq 2007) currently working full time doing private security and attending college. I'm aiming to become a radiographer (hospital x-ray machine tech) and then learn the newer forms of medical digital imaging, such as MRIs and sonography. I'm also a learning blacksmith.

I like to hang out with people around a bonfire in my back yard (it's legal here in Machesney Park, IL, to do that.) Soon I'll rebuild a nice fire pit and get a few picnic tables.

I really love reading a good fiction book (R.A. Salvatore is my hands down favorite author.) I also write, primarily fiction, but occasionally other things. I enjoy listening to older rock music (60s/70s/80s), from mellow love bird stuff like James Taylor to AC/DC. I also like to watch a lot of movies.

I love my pets - I have a german shepherd/husky mix dog, a couple land tortoises, and a couple cats.

I occasionally do some weight lifting and martial arts. These have kept me in fair physical shape... I'm 6'2, brown hair, brown eyes, glasses, about 210 lbs, with 3 tattoos (nothing offensive.)

I do enjoy drinking alcohol occasionally, and I do like to smoke a good pipe from time to time (tobacco blends only, no crazy drugs!) These activities usually make me feel like having deep/intellectual conversations, but not always.

My religious views are broad - I've somewhat studied the basic mechanics of the major religions of the world. It will be sufficient enough to say that my religion is based almost totally on my own virtues (honestly, hard working, etc), and taking obstacles in life as challenges to be used for personal growth into a better human being. I do occasionally meditate in the Taoist sense, but the bulk of my philosophy (including fate, etc.) is based from ancient European culture. Whenever I say this, I have to stress that I'm in no way a neo nazi, in fact I firmly think all people and all genders are equal in all ways. Or, realisticly, that at least that they should be.

I'm a sucker for macaroni and cheese.

Reading, writing, wood working, blacksmithing, computer games (World of Warcraft.) Anything that requires fine manual/hand dexterity.

I'm also really good at building camp fires and other "survival" skills from my Army special forces training. Martial arts - I don't stick to one particular "style" - I just use what is practical in a real life situation.

I'm TALL (6'2). I've also got broad shoulders, and a deep body frame. I look almost kind of tall and lanky, but truthfully I'm very thick and heavy built.

I also have a minor scar on my left eyebrow (left from a martial art tournament where I fought a Navy SEAL veteran.)

A lot of times my friends come over to my house because of the fact that I own a real house (independantly with my own hard earned cash and credit), and it has a lot more room than an apartment or whatnot.

Oh man! Go to your local library and read everything written by R.A. Salvatore. You won't be disappointed! I also dig Anne Rice and her vampire novels. I think she's quite good at tailoring her characters and making them seem like real people.

I like a variety of movies... off the top of my head: Crank, 300, The Punisher, Cry-Wolf, the Lord of the Rings movies, and of course, Don't Mess with the Zohan! My absolute favorite movie of all time is The Boondock Saints. Ever get tired of watching high ranking criminals walk out of the courts with only a few fines? The Irish brothers in this movie set out to kill them all. And it's also hilarious!

I dig older/"classic" rock music. Pretty much anything played on 96.7 The Eagle FM radio. I do like some modern rock too. Favorites: James Taylor, AC/DC, Foreigner, the list goes on and on... newer: Disturbed, Nickleback, Ra.

My computer(s), my smoking pipes, my books, my glasses, a good bottle of Disaronno Amaretto or aged scotch.

People and/or society in general, history, science...

Probably working, unfortunately. If all of the stars align and I'm free, I love to go out to a diner, or a restraunt like Denny's, and get some good food and chill out with good people. I also like visiting my parents.

Well, I am an Army special forces war veteran. I don't like loud, abrupt bang type noises, such as a car trunk being slammed. I tend to think it's a grenade going off or something, and I'll jump a little. This is slowly wearing off over time.

I don't have a problem with bloody horror movies, but I will avoid them if I can, because I've seen enough bloody horror in real life.

I did have several close friends, that I considered my brothers, die in combat.

I'm not a psycho war vet either, I'm just confessing these things because it's better to talk about them from time to time instead of bottling it up inside, which is what I usually do.

You're a fun person and a hard worker! There's nothing I hate more than a lazy individual that refuses to *LIVE* the wonderful life they were lucky enough to receive. I'm mostly looking for friends, and romance can go from there.
