I grew up in a small town in Oregon (USA) and love the outdoors. I enjoy backpacking, rafting, mountaineering, camping, snow boarding, river swimming, climbing, mountain biking, and trail running. I spent most of my life in Oregon (except for a short stay in Berkeley, California) and recently moved to Rijswijk (The Netherlands) for a post doctoral research position. Second to the great outdoors I love science and trying to understand this crazy world. I studied environmental engineering and would like to teach this topic someday. Currently, I'm trying to explore western Europe, learn a little dutch, and meet interesting people.

Trying to become a university professor if that fails ski bum is my second option.

For books I'll just name the top five in the last 1-2 years: Learning to Breath, Born to Run, The River Why, Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!, and Into Thin Air.

I like all types of music! However, currently I really enjoy bluegrass. And my favorite artist of all time is Neil Young.

Mexican and Asian are my favorite.

I have had bad luck with movies and shows lately.

A yearly snowboarding holiday, good music, interesting people, science and technology, my good friends from college, did I mention snowboarding(?).

How things work...

It depends some Fridays I go out for drinks while others I like to stay at home.

One of my friends consistently claims that I'm ridiculous.

I have no problem with eating other peoples leftovers.
