My self-summary Propose an edit
So, I wrote what used to be here in 2004 for a different website,
and while it certainly wasn't incorrect, I'm kind of tired of the
phrasing. If I had to choose which one of my personality traits
describes the core of who I am best, it would be my self-critical
nature. I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about what
I've said and done in the past and how that sits with me, and also
how I might handle certain hypothetical scenarios.
I have tattoos, and plan on getting more. I think girls with
tattoos are sexy. It blows my mind how many people have issues with
my skin.
I've recently been told by more than one person that I remind them
of Dr. House. I took this as a compliment. That alone should tell
you worlds about who I am (I don't do drugs, nor do I limp, but god
I love sarcasm, and am really quick to point out things that are
stupid).
I dabble in things a lot. I rode motorcycles for a while (the Duc
has been sold *sniffle*), I took flying lessons for a while, did
some sailing for a while, etc.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
In school doing a double major in a field of science and a
language. Because I can. I'm going to get a PhD, and there's
nothing anyone can do about it.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Rock Band. Having conversations using nothing but movie, song, tv,
and commercial quotes.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
I've been told I seem unapproachable, which is unfortunate. I am
often lost in my own thoughts when I'm walking around, maybe that's
got something to do with it? I really am nice!
My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit
(A) Most Robert Heinlein (Time Enough for Love, The Moon is a Harsh
Mistress, Starship Troopers, Stranger In a Strange Land, etc.),
Dune (only the first book, the rest are mostly rubbish), Hawking.
The Star Wars
books. Yea, I'm a geek.
(B) I love movies, but for some reason I can never think of
"favorites".
(C) The
Seatbelts, RHCP, Rush, Incubus, AIR, Immortal Technique,
Portishead, Paul
Simon, Shatner's most recent album (Has Been), Oasis,
Radiohead, Daft Punk, Boards of Canada, Talib Kweli and Mos Def,
The Roots, Muse, New Radicals, Cake, Modest Mouse, Led Zeppelin,
James Taylor, Franz Liszt, Nobuo Uematsu, Outkast, Saul
Williams... and many, MANY more. OH! OCRemix!! http://www.ocremix.org/
(D) There's a nice little restaurant/pub in Charlotte that is a
fairly well kept secret. Everything they serve is out of this
world!
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
My only requirement used to be my computer, but now I may not need
even that.
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
Big, elaborate plans. Books I want to write, movies I want to make,
trips I want to take. Drum beats. Your mom.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Probably doing homework. Unless the boys are back in town. In which
case jamming, or having a beer at Brixx.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I can't think of anything too interesting or juicy. Ask me a
personal question and I'll answer it.

**This section now has notes**
You're the kind of person who shouts "Free Bird!!" at concerts that
aren't Lynyrd Skynyrd. You like the iPhone. You think Harp is one
of the best beers out there*1*. You can handle a few minutes of
silence with a person without feeling awkward. You know Kepler's
three laws of planetary motion*2*. You love to make and/or hear
terrible puns*3*. You don't mind anime and video games*4*. You've
ever been to 4chan.
*1* Just face facts, it's THE best beer. The only thing better is
to combine it with Guinness to make a super-beer. *2* Read: KNOW!
Not cut and paste from wikipedia. If you're going to look them up
because I've mentioned them here, that's awesome - I love spreading
the knowledge - but for God's sake at LEAST paraphrase them! *3*
Some people say pun is the lowest form of wit. I think they just
need to get wit it. This shit's punny. *4* I'm a huge geek, I admit
it. However, when I say "you don't mind anime" it kind of implies
that I have a vast anime collection. Truth be told, I only watch
Cowboy Bebop, DBZ (for nostalgia value), and Samurai 7. In terms of
movies I've seen Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and -obviously-
Interstella 5555. All of them dubbed. If you reference some obscure
anime I WON'T GET IT. If you think less of me because I've not seen
MORE anime, perhaps you should do some research on the male psyche
(http://www.xkcd.com/122/).
