First off, not looking for a relationship anymore, happily married. Actually, I met my wife right here. I suppose that's why I can't bring myself to delete this account entirely.

Politically I'm very left. I want a lot from my government and I'm willing to pay for it. I want money to be spent to keep bridges from collapsing, keep those with the least clothed, housed, fed, and medically cared for, and make sure everyone has at least the kinds of chances I had in life. And while I've a few friends and confidants on the right, I find most people who disagree more interested in yelling and screaming than trying to achieve some sort of mutually respectful dialogue.

Everything else is nerd. Books, indie comics, I have a subscription to Popular Mechanics because Wired was becoming too main stream for me. I brew my own beer, I play old folk songs on the guitar, and I own my own easel that's spattered with acrylic paint.

My diploma says I'm an animator, but now I'm a graphic designer. I used to design catalogs, but got laid off in the recession and now I'm scraping together an income freelancing. Mostly it's photo retouching. Not exactly glamorous, but it pays the bills.

I don't really know. I've never really felt comfortable judging my own performance in anything. I like to cook and brew beer. People say I'm good at my job. I've been told my paintings are good but I've only had the one showing.

How the hell would I know? Seriously, it's not like I go up to people and say "excuse me, but what's the first thing you notice about me?" With my luck the answer would probably turn out to be "you're fly is down."

Books: Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger, a Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami, High Fidelity by Nick Hornby, and the City of Trembling Leaves by Walter Van Tilburg Clark. These are the tops.

Movies: Any Miyazaki or Wes Anderson film and many others. The best horror film of all time is the 1963 film the Haunting (based off the book the Haunting of Hill House) which I've had a minor obsession with since I was a boy. I love a good midnight monster movie too, but for entirely different reasons.

Music: Music is a passion. There is definitely bad music out there, but there are no bad genres. Well, I've never heard a boy band I liked, but it's probably possible. I'm two bands that compete most for my attention are eels and They Might Be Giants. Other notables are the Apples in Stereo, Burning Airlines, Jets to Brazil, Jabwox, Dressy Bessy, and many more.

Foods: I'm a vegetarian and have been my whole life. I went vegan for a while, and yes I took all the needed supplements, but my body freaked out and my immune system went to crap. I love to cook and can make even the most infamously unpalatable dishes tasty. Even my lentil loaf is a hit.

Air, water, food, sunlight, shelter, warmth.

These days, the state of the world, the state of the nation, and the state of my finances.

My wife and I have dinner with my parents. Everyone should be jealous of my folks.

That's a rather subjective question, isn't it? Define private? And can anything posted to anyone who cares to read be considered private anyway?

I have no idea how to answer this question. I have too few secrets to even have anything to put here.
